I was employed by this company, and was told that I would receive a "raise" after 30 days. Upon the arrival of the 30 days, I was Told by Ben Johnson, Manager, that this would not happen and that I was to be on probation for another 30 days.

After 60 days, I again was told that the raise would not happen, and to wait an additional 30 days, all this while never missing a day, nor called in, nor was reprimanded for any reason. On top of that I was told I was to have insurance and I copied and filled them out in which I have copies and thus over 30 days later they sat there on d**k Johnson's (Owner) desk never turned into the insurance company, I was told that the papers were sent, all the while I was thinking I had insurance.

I was told to lie to customers about distances in wireless internet access points, being they were "busy" to make an accurate assesment or measurement in distance. Then becuase of making waves about my "raise", or what not, I was told to be put on sales..a walk up the totem pole? think not. A way to be out of the office.

Worked over 100 hours in 2 weeks and when asked for my "salary", I was told I was not to recieve anything its based on "sale commission" when I asked why so and so gets paid even when sales are from someone else, I was told "he has been here longer", Lastly, when I was being paid an hourly pay, I was making child support payments, only to come to find out that they were never even being sent all the while my check stubs says they were.

It took my case worker from the FOC to contact this company and demand payment after being deliquent for 2 months or so, knowingly putting my freedom at stake. I recieved a letter with a return reciept requested attached to it, upon opening the letter is stated "..it is quite difficult to contact you by phone.." Ironic thing is Nextel itemizes incoming and out going of phone calls and two-way, that shows no communication from this company. And "by the way of this letter, your termination of employment with Quality Technologies." With no basis or reason. A well practiceact of Professionalism? This "ripple effect" of "dog eat dog", has a well balanced point of 10 of a rip-off employment investment on my part for buying it 100 percent.

FOC

From experience, I know for a fact that while usually slow, the FOC will forward legal papers to the employer to have them garnish your wages for child support. If the employer fails to do this, they can be fined and held accountable in a civil suit for up to three times the amount. This is especially good if you have your pay stubs which say the money is being taken out for child support, but your employer doesn't send it in. If you speak with you caseworker and show them you thought it was being taken out and are not responsible, he/she may be willing to help take your former employer to court.

Bad Business Practice

I find that you are better off contacting the DOL, and a attorney. It makes no difference that they have an explanation or not, their actions shows what can be done to an employee, which in turn makes us wonder for the customer. I will do some research on Quality Software for you.

Contact the DOL

Whether Michigan law states that your employer doesn't have to give a reason or not for termination, something is "rotten in fishville."

If everything you have said about your competence is correct and you have done everything properly, the Department of Labor needs to be contacted about their failure to enact your insurance and pay your child support payments. I take it you meant that your employer garnishes your wages and were supposed to pay, out of your check, your child support.

I too wouldn't waste a great deal of time and effort going after these lowlifes. They will get theirs!! Report them and then get on with your life, you need to continue to make your responsibilities to your children.

Anything new?

Unless there's been a recent change in the law, in Michigan an employer doesn't have to give a reason for terminating an employee.
