  I had posted an ad on craigslist, not really for dating or anything romantic for that matter. So I thought it was odd that this person randomly responded, no reference to anything I said in the posting. She perpetrated herself at someone that was born in this country, yet her English was obviously that of someone either using Google translate or most likely with very bad English. There were some immediate red flags, as for obviously auto correct wasn’t catching some of the improper grammar, because wrong words were inserted Behcet’s not appropriate to the sentence. Anyway, I wanted to be cordial at first in the event that this was a real person that was hurting, I didn’t want to be rude by not responding. I never would entertain the notion of sending this person money, but didn’t want to jump the gun and call her a scam artist, because technically she didn’t scam me out of anything and I didn’t know about this rip off report. Moving forward, I received emails like the ones below, Word for Word. When I would respond to her, she would respond with extremely lengthy emails, just to reiterate exactly like the ones below. She said she was a churchgoing person, and lived in New York, NY. Anyone that lives in New York wouldn’t talk like that. They would say “Manhattan“ or New York City. She told me this whole tearjerking story about losing her 11-year-old sister to cancer, her father dying in the tragic explosion, everything that was meant to pull on my heartstrings. I’m not sure why I took the time to entertain this, But no one with her name matching her face was on Facebook, nothing on Google, and I even went to the alumni list of the high school she went to and sure enough she was not there. These are all the same person, or group of people that eventually get to the point where they say something like “the $10 million settlement finally came in, I just need to get to the UK to meet with the lawyer to sign for it” i’m not sure exactly how that part would go down, but I’m sure at some point it comes to some type of do our die story to get you to transfer money. The person or people are really not that clever, there is too much information out there to fall for something like this. They try to use phrases like “I love to eat at Taco Bell and McDonald’s, like everyone else” to perhaps make you think this is a real, Down to earth person.

The fact of the matter is, I have never once eaten at a McDonald’s, and nobody I know eats fast food! She starts off by asking your email address, maybe looks you up on Facebook, may be potential he cross-references you with whoever the picture she is sending you all of to make sure you are not Facebook friends or somehow related? Either way, she will send you a picture of a pretty girl, not a beautiful girl but just a girl that looks pretty and down to earth. I was meticulous though, I look very closely at the pictures and the backgrounds and could tell things didn’t add up. She was sending me profile pictures obviously, something that didn’t correlate with what she was saying. She also said she Grew up in Massachusetts, but spelt the name of the town incorrectly. I also noticed in the pictures that were supposedly taken in her home that nothing looked like a New York apartment, I even zoomed in on a plug in the wall and could see that it was a European plug, not an American 110 outlet. No need to correspond with someone that starts out their story with a tearjerking story of losing their father into thousand and eight to a pipeline explosion in Nigeria. They go after a certain demographic. If you are 40 years old or a little older, you are a prime target! She says that she is 29 years old, so knows that someone 12 to 20 years older will go the extra mile for someone in their 20s, and even lower their standards A little bit as far as looks, and being with someone that cannot construct coherent sentences. Personally, her luxe and inability to construct proper sentences was a dealbreaker from the beginning. For those who will go further and continue dialogue with such person, please beware.

This is the same person as the one mentioned in the article. I recieved identical emails. She is calling herself Tiffany Shelton now. I answered a craigslist personal add and that's how the conversation got started. She has broken english and when her stories started sounding phishy I started second guessing. I recieved the same exact email posted in this article this morning. I researched HI-TECH company explosion and the Ripoff Report came up. Thank you all for getting the information out there. 

I thank God that I found this report before I went any further with this person. She goes by Shannon Newton now and responded to a craigslist ad I posted.She says she is from the Greenland area of Jacksonville Florida.She must not be very bright or aware because from the beginning of our correspondence I told her multiple times that I do not have a job and have no money but that didnt stop her. hello, I have never thought I would get myself into something so bad and crazy in my life. I'm in contact with this same person and they won. Huge scam an same story but I have more infornation/ pictures/ documents ex...

 I have been emailing a woman with the same M.O. She claims her name is Vanessa Lee. Said she lived in my hometown of Sierra Vista. I saw all the red flags currently mentioned by others.

She is telling the same story and using the same form letter/responses but claims to live in Cincinnati and going by Shannon Fischer

This scammer now poses as Judi Owen, saying she now lives on Valley Avenue in Philadelphia.  The rest of the story is basically the same.  I recognized that this was a scam from the outset, but played along to see where it would go.  Anytime Nigeria, Ghana or South Aftrica is mentioned, red flags start flying.  The story is full of holes and is unbelievable.  She says she is from Australia, graduated with a degree from the University of Notre Dame Australia.  However, this person, whoever it is, doesn not have any command or education in the English language.  So, as an ESL teacher, I immediately recognize what is going on.  The essence of the story is so very far blown, it knocks your socks off.  You just keep wondering when they are going to finally ask for the money.  The final message was...Can you send me your phone number.  I responded to teach and every pasted letter with excerpts from my religious writing files....one to two page responses each time.  Sometimes, I asked questions...none were answered and there was never specific response to my responses.  It appeared to be all preporgrammed.

 It's nice to read from you soon and am glad to know more about you  .As for me , am the only child of my parents, and i have lived in Tel Aviv Israel Because of my Dad's job.We have lived in  UK so much time as am in US now and we also lived in San Salvador, Cuba, Poland and Denmark. Before moving back to the States here when I was 20. We also attended many different kinds of churches including Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist but now I attend church services. Although not as often as I should. I do speak to God on a regular basis though. It helps me to keep life in perspective and balanced. When I do go to church, I go to a Presbyterian church near my home. I can honestly admit I enjoy going and do not have a valid reason for not going on a more regular basis. My Dad retired from the State Department and my Mom is also a retired school teacher (math). I moved along with my dad to state here cos i love my dad so much as he started his International trading to Africa after his retirement from the state department.

life is always nice when you have your parents by your side, mine is not cos i lost my dad too soon.I moved to united kingdom after i lost him .Due to the fact that am the only child, i moved to UK to stay with my mother for a while and What brings me down back here to US is the peace and tranquility here due to my work and my dad's Properties. One of my relationships ended because  the love was not there to grow rather than after all i done for him and the other one ended  cos of my partner?s betrayal and infidelity (cheating) It happened one Saturday morning, i was to travel to visit my mother about our relationship, and he droped me at the airport and left...But suddenly i couldn't make my flight that day cause, my flight was re-scheduled to be the next Saturday and i have to go back home, to get him informed that flight was re-scheduled....Getting to his place, i couldn't find Him in the sitting room so i have to check him in his living room, on getting there...I couldn't stand what i saw!!! I CAUGHT HIM MAKING LOVE TO MY BEST FRIEND it was so CRAZY didnt know what to say or do..So i started crying and he was trying to make me understand that its the devils work and not his intention, and ever since then i have been lonely with no man, no other friend again and also i have been far from sex. I know this sounds strange to you but its the truth I have not been sexually active now for a year!!!.

  Truly, I have looked for love in all the wrong places!  and nothing has worked out for me. I'm hoping to find someone decent. Spirituality is important to me.but I'd like to find a man like you, who values a personal relationship as I do; someone who can have a comfortable discussion about such things. Someone who thinks that morals and values and decency are important. I live my life through the word of God and through my spirituality, and I refuse to have sex with someone if I am not in a relationship with them and my last relationship ended over 2 years ago. My reasoning which I understand is very strange in today's world, but my believe is my heart and soul, and the passions that is in it is very unique and special, so I made the decision and made a promise to God that I would not be sexually active for the sake of just wanting sex, or to have sex for someone else?s own self gratification. Knowing the passion that is contained in my heart and soul is very unique, I made the decision to abstain from sex because I want this special gift to be shared with the person I am dedicating the rest of my life to, as his Wife and the future of his needs to provide sometimes.

 Oh sorry for my late response cos i just decided to write you now ,I had a short message from  my mother about my visiting and i had to leave since have been thinking of my mother,missing her so much and i think you know why am here as i told you earlier in some of my previous mail of the new discovered vital documents of Gold in a treasure box deposited by my late father possessed this  fund in a data trust security Company in West Africa before the Accident of pipeline occurred which i lost him to dead and the Document of this funds is Save in one of the bank here in United Kingdom with my name as the next of kin and i have to confirm my family lawyer here in UK as my mother told me before i can handle this myself .

  its nice to read from you and am happy to know what you seek from your dream woman.You are a very special person who I SERIOUSLY want to explore the possibility of building a long term relationship with, that will in time turn into a marriage and family. That is my dream, and I hope to make it come true with you!. In my heart I feel you have all the qualities it takes to make me very happy...

It is very important for me to build a life of stability, security, and opportunity for the special person I hope to share my thoughts, feelings, experiences, dreams and fantasies with, and to offer the best in opportunities for any children that might be included in my life and that is my focus at this time and I also do enjoy my job.  Professionally, i have once been an accountant before facing the carrier i have always prayed for .I have been thinking how to travel outside of the States to buy Art Sculptures , craft , beads etc and ship it into the States for sales. this have make me Imagine  a lot .Well i have been to different European countries ,twice in  Germany and am really wishing to visit some other places.

  When I am reading from you, I feel alive. You bring to me a happiness that no one else ever could. You bring to me a love I have never known before. I could not imagine what my life would be like without you. You have touched my heart in ways no one could ever comprehend. I love being with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you in soon that i will be leaving here to be in your arm of meeting you by this coming week as soon i get finish here .

 My love,i have to inform you,we had a call and email of letters here doing the weekend from the jointly of lawyer in Africa about my late father compensation that the money has been paid to a bank called (BANK UBA) since 22nd of last month 2015, deposited by the Nigeria Lagos State Government and we are informed to come along with all the document of my late father company as we are giving only this new month for clearing this with some others document my mother used in attending the last court conference over there to show this up in the bank as an evidence to claim this money ( $17.000.000.00) but my mother can't go for this any more as i told you because of her illness of skin cancer,i have to represent her and wire this money to my account in state by transferring this since it is met for me to start my new business and this what i have been praying for to come to an end, so my dream can come true with you,Bob

. 

Baby since we heard all this message have been grateful and give thanks to my God because am so happy with my mother by running around to get me a flight ticket with the support of the lawyer and well hoping in God,if am done here as possible with booking of my flight,i will be leaving to West Africa  for the retrivement of the compensation since its met for me..Also as i might need to get some art works done for my business,if all clear soon..

Honey but am facing a problem here wish i believe you can be of solving this for me as it is bothering me so much to write you,as what i told my mother to let me get to you first because my mother is very happy by getting the flight ticket for me and the problem am facing now is what i find out about the hotel am going to stay over in Africa it cost of $75 daily and am not using more than a week in Africa to get back to state in your arms for getting my compensation money over there and leave back,so am some how tired about this because i do not have any thing on me here or with my mother because we get all support done by the lawyer here also and hope you can show your responsible up to my parent here by helping me out with the amount of the hotel am going to stay in Africa and a week is cost of  $525 why am going to leave there by  next coming weekend.

i really do understand all that you put into writing and as well do understand what  you are going through.. You are a good friend to say, because if i were in your shoes i will also do the same... A friend in need is a friend in deed... I might seek for your support, but that does not make me a prostitute or an on line beggar, who come on here after toying with others emotion then use them and dump them.... Like wise if i must say am not a type of lady who tends to be a gold digger, i mean am not that type that is after a man wealth or riches.. I know how hard it is for one to earn a living so why should i betray ?

Heaven bears me witness i never for once had any negative instinct or motive towards this relationship..
