I began doing telemarketing work for a John King in Clearwater, FL on February 27, 2014. His business is calling people who are selling vehicles on Craigslist, or folks who are already customers of some major dealerships around the country.
I filled out and submitted a W9 form as an independent contractor, which made the job seem legitimate. During an initial conference call with other workers, we were told our first pay date would be two weeks from that day, which was March 14. When I didn't receive a check or pre-paid card in the mail, I asked John about my paycheck. He then explained I needed to have a Full two weeks in before they would issue any pay, and that I would receive it the following Friday, March 21.
Again, nothing. However, on Monday, March 24 he was the one that called me to tell me he would be emailing me a Money Gram code that I could use to load my pay onto my debit card. I waited hours and emailed him about it. He responded back by saying he thought his accounts department had sent this code to me and that he would get back to me.
I emailed him again, and my husband, angry that his wife had been taken across, called his phone only to hear the voice mail pick up. I have heard nothing back from John King.
So in Googling his name, I found the Rip Off Report on him and see that others have gone through the same thing with this guy. The type of work is the same, but I believe he changes the name of the company from time to time to be able to keep getting away with this Scam.
The job was posted on Craigslist. So, if you come across this job, please don't fall for it. With representing Real Auto Dealerships around the country, it does seem to be a legitimate job. But the boss doesn't pay his workers!

Our attorney advised me to contact the FBI because this issue is considered "Interstate Commerce." I advise anyone else to do the same if this has happened to them. Hopefully, with enough people contacting them about Mr. King's scam, they will investigate.

I been with this company since March 6, 2014. When i first began, i had filled the WForms and the Independent C ontractor, thinking this was a good company to work. I have worked from home with other companies, and never had incrued trouble til this company screwed me over. Since i been with this company, I been paid twice, and now its been over a month to no pay, and now their "system" is completely down, (how convienent). This past week, I have not been able to get ahold of anyone in the office, of course, and even attempting to try to get them to call you, is like a needle in a haystack at that. The company owes me over 65hours of pay, and according to the FBI, and even DOL in Tampa, FL, this is not the first time this company has been reported. I don't understand how a company continues to stay afloat when they are fake.
Because of this company, my bills are behind, and so forth. They at one point appointed me to Supervisor as I was doing a great service when i first started with them. Now doing major research on them, I know i was used and i feel violated. How can a company such as them stay in business if they are so fake and don't pay their employees?!

This is my follow up report on John King, Worked for a Month With No Pay, Clearwater, FL. I want to make it clear that the auto dealerships I named in my first report are not affiliated with John King, a.k.a. Don Queen.
It is not my intention to damage their names or reputations. Through further investigation, I have found that they did not hire Mr. King/Mr. Queen, At Home Agents, or Dealerforce, all of the names used by the telemarketing company in question. I apologize for mentioning them. Please continue to patronize these companies.
If any new information comes to my attention, I will post a new report.
