Several months have passed and tempers have cooled down. What I wrote previously about this company, and about Alan Hansen, was a result of a dispute over sales commissions. That dispute, it turns out, was not an issue of ethics or ethical business practices it was a combination of a poorly worded commission policy and a breakdown of timely communications. Unfortunately, that led to an escalation of things on both sides, and things were said/written out of emotion rather than fact.

First, let me correct one thing Mr. Hansen and Mr. Laub did NOT lose their Rebath franchise, or change the name of the business to skirt this issue. Actually, they were the top performing franchise in the country earning several awards from Rebath, but they disagreed with Rebath LLC as to several important business practices and negotiated an agreement with Rebath to end their franchise relationship last fall. This happened after I had left the company, so I was not fully aware of the facts at the time.

As to the commissions, all of the issues have been resolved. Once things cooled down, we were able to fairly simply get everything solved with no attorney involvement. As to the other comments, I should clarify that Luxury Bath has not engaged in any illegitimate activities, and I should not have written otherwise. Outside of the dispute over final sales commissions, frankly I am unaware of any issues any employees or customers have had with the company. They do a very good job, and their installers are top-notch. Hopefully now there wont be any future issues with regards to sales commissions either.

Bottom line: my only issue was fully resolved fairly and simply, and I retract and regret the other comments I made regarding this company. You should not hesitate to call them; their customer satisfaction history is really quite impressive.

On September 5, 2009 I recieved 9700 of the 13000 Alan Hansen and Michael Laub owed me. After their loss on August 5 to a fellow employee and more letters from my attorney Re-bath of Spokane and Northern Nevada finally made a payment. I have sent them a demand for the balance with no response as of yet, so it is off to small claims court. It is a shame oe has to go to these extremes tocollect wages due them. It now appears Michael Laub and Alan Hansen hav change the name of their business to Luxury Bath Bath of Spokane and Luxury Bath of Reno A little research shows uncovers what appears to be a consumer whatchdog web site called www.luxurybathspokanesucks.com

On August 5th, 2009, Alan Hansen of Re-Bath of Spokane and Re-Bath of Northern Nevada was ordered to pay $2300 in commissions plus costs, by a small claims court judge in Spokane Washington, owed to another salesman that was denied his commissions in a case similar to mine. My case involves a considerably larger amount of money and will be heard in a higher court with a jury trial. The owners, Michael Laub and Alan Hansen should have not tried to cheat their employees. That would have saved those gentlemen a lot of time, hassle and legal fees. But, that would have been the moral and honorable thing to do, I guess those characteristics are foreign to them.
