Reduced Rate Long Distance, LLC slammed us by claiming to be calling on behalf of Qwest Long Distance. Supposedly Qwest was no longer going to offer long distance and they were just calling to notify all the customers of a change in billing.
They had all our phone number information, tho no Qwest account information, and they managed to get us changed over to their long distance plan and billed through Qwest.

this happens to many people, what you need to do, is make sure to contact You local telephone company and let them know that You only want Qwest or any other long distance company. then they can not change who you want without you personally calling to do that. also contact qwest and they can set up a new account for you. you will also need to contact the company that slammed you like this, and disconnect the account there. at times a representative of the Long distance compnay you choose with call with you if you are nervous about doing this. i hope the information i have giving you helps
