i first went to regency in my town to check out the place and loved how PRETTY it was so i gave them my application fee, which was rediculous, and started there 3 months later. At first everything was good, no one knew each other well and i wish it would have stayed that way. In basics i didnt learn anything and i was pushed out on the floor after 320 hours of which i totally freaked out and thats where my attendance began to drop. Of course it would because i hated that place once i was out of workshop. Everyone was twofaced and it seemed like since they had my money, i didnt even matter as a person. It was like i was just there and i had no heart or feelings towards anything that was said about me and done to me to put me in a deep depression that i ended up being in. Everyday there was such a struggle whether it be with educators, students, or clients i felt like i was so alone with everything and no one wanted to help me. When i would ask for help i would always get brushed off or told that i should know what im doing since i went through haircutting for 5 days... yeah right! So after dealing with all the drama and hurt for little over a year i decided to gain the guts to quit and it was the best choice i would probably ever make in my life. Since i quit, ive gotten into a better school where they are my family and great friends, my depression and stress has gone out the window, and most importantly ive learned so much more than i ever would have at Regency. Im so glad i left because truth be told, Regency graduates have the hardest time finding a salon job and they usually have to settle for the worst. No one around here wants to hire Regency students because it has simply been said that they CANNOT cut nor color hair very well. So now when i graduate i can proudly say that i will know a lot more than Regency students and i will have a much higher rate of passing my state boards and getting a great salon job. So i give advice to anyone even considering this Regency to not even step foot on the property because it will be a waste of your time and money and i also reccomend that you "shop around" for schools and not go for the most glamorous looking one.

I thought I was alone in SC too. Then I started reading all of these complaints from other Campuses. It's all the same issues, so obviously their problems are Corporate. I just find it hard to believe they continue to get away with ripping of the students and it feels like our hands are tied. I guess the only recourse is getting enough students to report them through sites like this, the BBB, and the State Licensing Board for Cosmetology. Im at 1300 hours and refuse to quit now. But I am certainly going to get my voice heard somewhere. Im glad you were able to get out. I just cant afford to have to pay them 100% and then go to the school I SHOULD have went to in the first place. Best of Luck to ya.
