Question...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, October 24, 2010

Has your account actually been charged anything?

I did a little research for you..and discovered this reply from ResearchAnyone regarding these emails..

"The email you are getting is not affiliated with our company. Someone is sending out emails claiming they have charge the Paypal with $1xx.xx amount. If you see this email do not click on any links within the email. The link is trying to steal your Paypal password and username. Our website has a paypal buy it now button which is pre-set to $19.95 and changes cannot be made. The only amount you can make to our company is $19.95. Whatever other amount you see in an email is wrong and fake. When you receive emails as these, if you check who sent it to you, you will notice it is not directly from PayPal. They are pretending to be from Paypal but of course they are not. Do not fall for this and again please do not click on any links in the e-mail."

So who is this complaint against?

PayPal only knows a transaction was done using your account. The problem there is the buyer protection only covers tangible goods. A research company most likely is not selling any tangible goods.

However, your complaint is not that you were sold a defective tangible good or item not as described, but that there is fraud on your account.

ResearchAnyone most likely did not guess your account information out of thin air...someone had to have entered this information when on the website.

So..you need to go after anyone who had access to your account information and ask them to pay for this transaction.

Have you filed a police report or contacted the FBI if you believe identity theft or fraudulent use of the account has occurred?
