I was aproached after I got out of my truck at Home Depot parking lot by an italian guy by the name of Raffaele l. He asked me if I spoke italian and I told him that I didn't. He then told me that he was a salesman for Armani jackets.

The night befor he had been to casino san pablo and lost $4000,00. He told me that he needed to pay off his rental car bill and would trade me the coats for the cash.

He showed me his passport and the rental car bill for around $150.00. He was around 5'4" tall with medium build.

He then told me he had just done a show and he couldn't bring the jackets back because he would have to pay tax on them. If I give him the money so that he could return the rental he was driving a gray jeep then he would give me the leather jackets. I felt bad for the guy thinking that he was being genuine. I gave him the cash and he gave me 4 jackets, 3 leather and 1 suade all seemed to be nice quality.

After I gave him the cash he gave me two more jackets and said he wanted to buy a present for his son and asked for $200.00 more. When I said no way, he gave me his business card and two more jackets and asked again for more money. I again said no way and ended up with a total of 8 Jackets. See photos.

Does anyone know if these are rip offs or knock off jackets?

After veiwing your site it seems clear this is not the real deal. The Jackets do seem to be nice quality.

rga reportage ripoff update in new york city october 9 2007

AUTHOR: Ingenius - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 10, 2007

I was also a victim of this scam. this occurred to me today 10/09/2007 at the home depot in northern blvd, queens, NY. The italian(?) fellow got away with $ 650.00 . Same history, quoted a Javits convention center show with th new line 2007-8 of giorgio Armani.

The jackets are RGA REPORTAGE NEW COLLECTION. The scammers were driving an SUV Grey. Florida Plates. The scammer is tall well built, brown hair and eyes, confident smile, quite eloquent, looking for sympathy and asking for help: "Please Help me , he sad repeatedly. Help me get rid of this "Sophisticated merchandise to avoid tax penalties on his entry back to Italy.

I want to file a police report but I do not have the name of this individuals. All I have is the merchandise (7 jackets) and all the reports of the other victims in this web site.
Please help me, I feel these fellows deserve punishment

Gabriel

Same scam - now in Marin county

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Just found this website - wish I had sooner.

Same MO, Italian guy, biz card, bad english -- for me it was: my boss gave me these jackets as a bonus at the trade show at the Moscone Center (SF). First wanted to sell me 9 jackets for $500. Only a few fit. So I got 3 for 300. They are not bad looking if fake. They have tags, came in individual bags, and he gave a big plastic bag with the A Collezoni name on it. I don't want to think I got ripped off, but it seems strange that this same situation is going on everywhere. I guess I'll be upset when then fall apart. One jacket was a Repotage.

My sob story was "I want to buy this video camera for my a mama, and not pay the tax."

He was driving a white van, had a pack of cigarettees and a bottle of Starbucks cold beverage near the drivers seat. Well dressed. Flashed me a roll of money.

You know, we think it can't happen here, but I guess it does.

Another Reportage G Armani Ripoff March 16, 2007

AUTHOR: Sam - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 16, 2007

March 16, 2007
Well I got taken today right in front of my bank in Fair Oaks, Ca (Sacramento). Washington Mutual at Sunrise and Greenback. He drove up to me and I should have just ignored him.

He gave a song and dance about a trade show, asked if I spoke Italian, I said English, then I should have realized how could he have been at a trade show and not speak English?? losing 8,000 dollars at a casino was flying out to Italy tonite, needed car rental money, $750 but I said I only had $200 so he gave me 3 jackets.

I thought his business card looked hokey. He showed me his passport and when I went to call a friend he got antsy. Well things are very tight for me financially and I definitely didn't need these jackets and well I believed they were worth more than what I paid. But I should have remembered my motto, When I buy something I am not familiar with, it usually works out poorly for me. So I blame myself here, even though they are scumbags. Maybe I was just burning off some karma.

The scam works again, I saw some signs and should have passed. Well another lifes lesson.
They were in a nice Chrysler mini van, Grey. Enterprise Rental Contract. I tried to look inside to see their suitcases. I imagine I could get the video from the Bank security camera. Is that against the law to sell those in the Bank parking lot.

The jackets do seem to be good quality. I'll sell them on Ebay to tray and recoup some of my money.

Don't be trusting like me.

Never trust too good of a deal.

RGA Reportage scam

AUTHOR: Ganesh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 13, 2005

Very sad these guys are ripping off so many people. I am one of the victim. Two guys told the same story and ripped $300 for 3 jackets and 4 shirts. The irony is I found these guys are scam, called the cops and there was a enquiry. But verifying their credentials and docs, the cops mentioned that whatever doc he has is good and told me that I have fallen for one of the sales tactics. The cops warned them not to do this kind of sales in foster city and asked them to leave the area.
But when I read so many stories from this web site I feel I should have done some thing more to trap these guys.
For anyone if this information would be helpful. They were driving in a white grand cherokee licence plate # 4NMN269(California) on 12/12/2005. This may be a rental vehicle. If anyone can do something with this information to stop these guys from playing with peoples sympathy, it would be great. I feel so bad on how I threw hard-earned $300 just sympathizing for these cheats.

Same story a little different. He worked for a fashion seller. Armani-Gucci-Boss-Versace. He showed me his passport and I.D. and his cross on his neck saying he was a christian. He told me he was at a convention where he didnt sell all his jackets. He said that he didnt want to pay taxes and wanted to get rid of them really cheap. He wanted me to pay 500 for 3 leather jackets. I said no. He then offered them for 300 and i took them. Later to find out on this website it was a scam.

His card said his name is Raffaele I. and his partner Luigi I.
