This company RIVERTV offers a free trial and then makes it impossible for you to cancel your free trial and then proceeds to bill you you for a monthly subscription. No one answers their customer phone number 1-647-245-7769 and there is an automated message that says write an email to this email address > customercare@rivertv.ca

 and when you do, you get an automated response > "An email was recently sent to a mailbox that is no longer monitored and supported.If you have questions, concerns, or require assistance in any way, please sign-in to your RiverTV My Account to chat with a Team Member.

 

PLEASE DO NOT SEND REPLIES TO THIS EMAIL. THIS MESSAGE IS AUTOMATED AND FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY"                                          

 

So I was finally able to login to a free trial account I initiated back on December 28th, 2024 and they tell me that >"Our refund policy clearly states that we do not provide refunds for subscriptions once they have been activated. "       

  I never once activated or used their services and this company behaves in the most unethical manner!               

 

 Furthermore here are 3 other reviews as found on trustpilot

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. No one to talk to. I accidentally subscribed and was refused refund, I had unsubscribed on the app but apparently it didn't work and I've been charged without my knowledge for months

Just paid for subscription and can't get on the app at all and can't reach anyone at river my experience so far is horrible and would not recommend it to anyone

River TV used to be good but now it is…

River TV used to be good but now it is totally garbage and there is no way to contact them.

 

The River TV on Roku is useless, you can't see what you are watching because there is no description it just shows you the channel' name and some channels like CBC News won't play or the feed is delay by 2 full minutes and NewsMax has a delay of 4 minutes and there is no way to contact tech support.
