This attorney doesn't even do any work for you, then he bills you and bills you and bills you. His is a total scam business, this man is very dishonest -- and thinks that just because he sends a bill, he should get paid.
Spends more time writing fake bills than assisting his (very few) clients in their legal matters, never has any results to show, just bills, bills, bills.
Others beware, this dishonest person will try to take you for everything he can get away with.
NEVER hire an attorney without an agreement as to exactly WHAT you are hiring him to do, fees to be paid, fee schedule, and exact method of reporting and billing hours!!!!

So, it appears this attorney has offended one of his clients in the initial ripoff report related to his billing practices; then recently(2013); purported other clients came onto rip-off report to repair Mr. Vaughn's credibility. Both are interested parties -- I am not.
I found this ripoff report recently because I sat in on a case where Mr. Vaugh dragged someone into a court hearing for the purpose of getting the other opposing party to pay his attorney fees on a case both litigated against each other in. I believe the other party was pro se. I wanted to see if there may be a pattern of conduct associated with him.
I am a federal law clerk; so, these kind of issues are normally settled before a hearing because federal courts employ "safe harbor" rules with strict noticing requirements.
In this case, Vaughn, went on a tirade about emails that went back and forth between the Court, the opposing counsel and Vaughn. Vaughn was so upset that he wanted the Court to make the other party pay for Vaughn having to read the emails. Further, Vaughn complained about the other party sending emails to the Court -- even though, the defendant copied Vaughn on each communication. I'm not an attorney but this is common practice in VA state courts; not so much in federal courts though -- except to the extent we communicate with the law clerks for the judge regarding procedural issues or similar matters.
Moreover, Vaughn brought a motion for sanctions that made no sense to me. He kept reading irrelevant emails about an issue that was not before the Court which appeared to me to be nothing more than an attempt to obfuscate the issue taht was on the docket for hearing.
He kept making personal attacks about the other party and the judge appeared to allow it; though I thought it was highly prejudicial and irrelevant to the reason they were in the hearing. Indeed, I was vicariously offended by his conduct in the courtroom on that day.
It shocked me when the other party stated in open Court that he agreed to pay Mr. Vaughn 5600.00 days/weeks before the hearing just to make him go away. However, Vaughn would not accept the litigants offer to settle for the entire amount and forego the hearing.
Instead, it appeared to me like Vaughn was running up the bill by docketing the hearing; driving all the way from Leesburg to Woodstock Virginia so he claim his fees and costs which would grow to 9600.00(4000.00 upward difference) I thought to myself -- I am glad that I do not work for Mr. Vaughn because this type of litigation offends my conscience.

I have used Robert Vaughn as my attorney several times over the last 35 years. He represented me in my divorce cases and I went to him for advice on a domestic/legal issue.
Bob has always been professional, proficient and his advice was spot on. I have recommended Bob to several other people and they too were pleased with the outcome of their cases.
I just recommended him this morning to a co-worker who is having issues with her ex-boyfriend over child custody/child support issues. Her ex is trying to bully and threaten her with custody. I know that Mr. Vaughn will not take this lightly and will fiercely represent her and her child's best interest.

I'm not sure what the issue is/was with the original poster, but I used Bob Vaughn on a very complicated criminal matter involving my son. Not only was Mr. Vaughn professional, he gave great counsel based on his experience to help us compel the best outcome without requiring an actual trial, which would have been incredibly expensive.
The fact that the original poster doesn't provide any details as to why he has issue with Mr. Vaughn is very telling. I would recommend Mr. Vaughn to anyone dealing with a difficult or complicated legal matter and requiring a lawyer who can help them navigate what is, for most, uncharged territory in the legal world.

I am not sure if the previous respondent lost his case or something but I have used Mr. Vaughn as my attorney for over a year and have found him to be both honest and effective. He keeps costs low, calls bs when he sees it, and tells it to you straight. He has won all 4 cases we've fought and I would recommend him to anyone.
