Ryan Redemeier Rye, Rye Red Promised a two-hour a/c fix on my car, I naively paid him upfront because he was through a mutual friend, it has now been six weeks. Spring Hill, Florida

I was speaking to an acquaintance about my car a/c being broken and she informed me she had a self-employed mobile mechanic friend who could do the work for half the price of a mechanic shop.

I got his number, left him a voicemail, he called me back immediately and said he could come to my home right then And have my car ready before I had to leave for work in two hours. Well, it wasn't ready in two hours, I paid him upfront for the parts, and before I left for work (I had a friend pick me up who witnessed the monetary exchange) paid him the balance for the services, totaling $500. He told me he would call me the second the car was ready. He didn't.

For the next few days he gave me the run around about how he still had to get certain parts, or this part was faulty, and several times told me he was on the way to my location to finish the job. I spoke with the mutual friend on several occasions, she informed me that this was nothing like him, she was completely shocked that he was pulling this on me, and she would help in any way possible. She tried calling and again, he gave me more run around garbage. He his a certified mobile auto technician who also works for his mother's auto shop, of which I don't know the name or location.

The initial repair started on June 20th, it is now August 1st and I don't know what else to do at this point. I don't have any receipts for the parts or work, because he took the receipts with him when he supposedly was given the wrong parts, I pad him cash upfront for everything. All I have is my friend who witnessed me paying him when he was picking me up for work. I'm assuming he's into drugs and thought it would be easy to take advantage of a single young female. Please help!
