Just read the reports on this bunch this morning, but I didn't fall for it.

I had exactly the same experience as the others reporting this bunch here in Ann Arbor yesterday, nearly to the letter. I interviewed for the same office manager position, saw the very same demonstration with the halon extinguisher in the tin pie plate, was offered my choice of cities, told I'd be meeting the president, told I'd be making $4000 a month, etc.

The difference here is that they wanted $165 deposit for the sales kit, so they are getting greedier.

When I was told I had the job I was very happy, until I started thinking it all over.

At no point was I asked for valid identification, a resume, or references. Then there was the money up front thing. I've learned the hard way that any job that requires YOU to pay THEM as a condition of employment is a scam, plain and simple.

I was to attend my first "training" session tomorrow at 3:00, but obviously I won't be going.

The man who interviewed me used the name Jason Arbogast, and their office is at 3131 S. State St. in Ann Arbor, office 19. On his business card is AJR & Associates, a division of Safety Technologies.

Jason and his ebullient secretary were the only people there in a cheaply furnished office suite. They had a map of the U.S. on the wall with colored push-pins all over the place, a couple hundred of them at least in three different colors. I was told what the colors meant, that some were offices established, others were offices they were just opening, and others places they wanted to open offices.

Their office phone here is (734) 622-8377, and Jason's cell phone is (734) 345-1871.
Jason looks to be in his 30's, stocky, about 6' and 220 lbs. having a goatee and moustache.

Misty's report exactly matched the scam that they presented to me, and clearly this bunch is organized and working the scam all over the country.

Safety Technologies in MI has been mistaken for another company by the same name.

AUTHOR: Mistakenid - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 07, 2007

Safety Technologies LLC is an Ohio Corporation, incorporated in August of 2007. This company was formerly named G&M Marketing Corporation, which was incorporated in Ohio in January of 1992. The reason for the change was that the "G" of G&M was no longer part of the company. The only mistake G&M made was to be unlucky enough to choose Safety Technologies as it's new name.

The complaints on this site are directed at Safety Technologies(Unique Worldwide Services) of Alabama, and not Safety Technologies(G&M) of Ohio. The owner of Safety Technologies(UWS), Mark Mingolo has changed company names 5 or 6 times, has been thrown out of at least six states, and has been personally sued by 5 Attorney Generals.

Although the companies have some similarities, Safety Technologies(G&M) has proven that over the last 15 plus years, the way they are run couldn't be more different. Our top managers do earn over $4000 per month, the training does last 30-90 days, and we do offer the best products and the longest warranties.

Safety Technologies(G&M) does require a $165 Refundable Kit Deposit. This is 100% refundable when you're through with the training, or on a prorated basis if you don't finish. This is simply security on the return of the materials. We are a company that provides the public valuable information on fire safety, and whose livelihood is ultimately based on selling a product to keep people safe. It stands to reason that we wouldn't be helping our cause by giving it away.

The complaints in reference to Jason Arbogast and Bruce McClure are unwarranted. They responded to the same ad as everyone else, and are only asking of others what was asked of them. They are proof that the program, although it may not appeal to everyone, works.
