I placed an order on line, on 10/13/15 and was charged sales tax for the product I ordered. As this is illegal to

charge sales tax over the Internet, only if the company is in the same area or state in which I reside, which it is not! Samsung is comitting Internet Fraud which is a federal offence. They know they are doing this and I am probably the first customer to call them on this! I have contacted my credit card company of their fraudilent dealings and filed a "removal dispute" of the tax charge to my card. I am wondering how many consumers have paid tax over the Internet to Samsung, illegally!!??  I am also filing a complaint with the BBB and if there are attorneys reading this, I hope to hear from you as well! I am also contacting the Federal agencies concerning this matter. Thank you for your time.

Update to sales tax being charged over the internet by Samsung

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 14, 2015

This is an update to Samsung Semiconductor Inc., charging sales tax for purchases made over the Internet.

Their argument is that "The Marketplace Fairness Act", passed by our U.S. Senate in 2013 gives companies like Samsung the right to add sales tax for the state the buyer lives in. The only thing wrong with Samsung's argument regarding this act or bill of 2013 is "that it only lasted 18 months and fizzled out in November of 2014"!  There is no bill passed at this time where companies can legally charge sales tax for purchases made over the Internet. Only can they charge sales tax if the buyer resides in the same state as the company location!

So if you consumers out there are being charged "sales tax" on purchases you have made over the Internet, get your money back after you've read the above article! You can also "Google, The Marketplace Act of 2013" and read it for yourselves. I wonder how many companies are doing this illegally aside from Samsung and how many  consumers are being ripped off??  Thank you
