SBC Ameritech has unfair billing practices! They charge extra fees for their mistakes. Rip-off! Illinois nationwide

I changed account numbers with my bank. I was previously on the automatic bill pay for most of my bills including SBC Ameritech. I notified all of my creditors, including SBC Ameritech of the account number change. SBC Ameritech would not change my old information so that it reflected my new account information. Thus, they had not been debiting my account.

My phone bills started becoming past due without me knowing. Instead, they kept sending me disconnection notices, and charging me extra late fees, due to their mistakes. I even filled out the account number change online, and they still would not put the information through.
