Scholastic/disney's Wonderful World Of Reading ripoff: they say you can cancel at any time but thats not true!! Jefferson City Missouri .....
Scholastic called me and said that they had an offer for my daughter. They would send her two books and a free backpack, and said that we were under no obligation to buy. We could simply return the books and they would even reemburse us for the shipping. When the books came we decided to keep the two that they sent, but enclosed a letter stating that we did not want to recieve any more. They continued to send books.
They don't enclose a telephone number for you to contact them and the web adress that they give doesn't seem to exist. I tried to go to the web site and kept getting a message that there were no matches for the web sit i was looking for. Now they have sent me abill for $45.17, and say that if I do not pay by May 6, 2003 that they are going to sen a collection agency after me!
