Scott Clark Toyota City On December 12th we purchased a Totoya Sienna van. While we were signing the paperwork, they took the van back to "detail" it for us. They took the floor mats out of the back and never replaced them. We drove the van home and didn't notice because it was so dark (10pm) until we were home and had the van in our garage. We contacted the sales person and he said we could drop by the next day and he would have them. Well the next day came and he only had 3 of the four sets that go with the van (the two front, the back set for the driver's side). The back passenger side set was missing. . Matthews North Carolina

Well the next day came and he only had 3 of the four sets that go with the van (the two front, the back set for the driver's side). The back passenger side set was missing. After a week of going back and forth the salesman I was told that the sales manager would allow me to purchase a brand new set of mats at their cost. Of course I wasn't happy with that and requested to speak with him. He never called and I had to call there to request him. He said he had to research it and would call me back. When he called me back he said, the van didn't come with that set of mats when it was traded in. Well....according to Carfax that van wasn't a trade it was owned by Scott Clark plus when my husband and I looked at it the mats were there. I told the sales manager I wanted to speak to his boss. He told me he was the boss. I told him he had a boss and I wanted to speak with him. He told he doubted he would talk to me about floor mats. I'm still waiting to hear from him. My family has purchased three cars from Scott Clark and they have lost that business. We will never own another vehicle sold by that company and all our service work will now go to another Toyota dealership in town. They build those big nice building they call dealerships by ripping people off, but I will not be ripped off again.

Not Working With

AUTHOR: Katie - ()

The scammers aren't working with Amazon. They're instructing you to purchase an "item" available on Amazon & then subsequently "steals" that item from you by requesting the code. Amazon's culpability ends once you've purchased the item - you bought it, it's yours. On their end, the transaction appears legitimate.

Gift card & digital code fraud is a huge widespread problem, especially around the holidays, and it's very easy to get away with. Cards & codes should always be treated as cash. There's generally no reason for a company to instruct you to purchase a card or code from an unrelated 3rd party to pay for goods.

If someone says you can only buy something from them with gift cards unrelated to their business, or reloadable cards like Green Dot, it's not worth the risk.
