I went to Scott Toyota after being "approved" by 1800-get credit to buy a new car. I was unfortunatly served my Jason Montes and Chris Barone. Both salespersons were too interested in leaving for happy hour to properly get the documents done for my vehicle purchase. Both Jason and Chris cursed frequently tried to hurry the buying process by

1. not allowing me to test drive the car

2. not telling me the selling price of the car

3. not telling me of the asthetic damages to the vehicle (it was dark when this took place) I finally drove off the lot 3 hours later with a flat tire, no cigarette lighter, no vehicle manual, and no warranty information. I was called 10 days later by jason montes and asked to come in to 'sign more documents' at which point I drove to scott toyota on my lunch hour, just to be left to wait another 30 minutes for Chris barone to show up from lunch. The 'documents' were new loan papers that changed my APR by 4% and changed my payment by $18 more dollars. I was not told this on the phone, but signed so I could get back to work.

30 days later I received a call from the head of finance saying I was NOT financed and had to bring the car back RIGHT NOW. I was at work at the time and did not understand how I could have a car for a month and not have the documents finalized. I finally drove my new car back to Scott toyota because I was threatened that if I did not, it would be towed from my workplace, and my trade-in vehicle would be impounded and not returned to me. I gave the car back, and when I got my old car back, it had two flat tires, no gas (I had filled it) and the licese plate had been stolen. Jason Montes and Chris barone both Lied to thier supervisors and co-workers about the license plate stating that I took it from the car, even though I was issued a temporary plate for my new car.

I am now out one car, 400 dollars in insurance money, my license plate has been stolen off the car lot, and the General Manager Brook Margrave did not care. The Scott Toyota GM did not care about the poor selling practices, the lies, or the theft. I was told he would 'Look into it and get back to me' and obviously, he has not.

Buyer Beware, these guys not only don't care about thier customers, but apparently don't care about customer service, ethics, morality, or legality.
Don't trust any employee of Scott Toyota

Sorry for any confusion

AUTHOR: Pat - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 17, 2004

I just saw the post of my rebuttal from 3 days ago (don't know why it took so long to post), and I noticed that it listed me as "Owner of the Company". I can assure you that I do NOT own Scott Toyota. I don't know how my rebuttal was placed as Owner.

Sorry for any confusion, and I hope my comments were helpful.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Lori,

I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience you had at Scott Toyota. I have but one comment to your report.

The State of Arizona says that you "own" your license plate. This means that if you trade in your current vehicle, you are to keep your current license plate and transfer it to your new car. The dealership should ALSO give you a temporary (or paper) tag, until your new registration arrives. When you get the new regristration in the mail you then remove your paper tag and replace it with your old plate as it is now registered to your new vehicle.

If Scott Toyota failed to give you your original plate when you left the lot the first day, then they failed in another area.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Hey Lori Call this a "Public Records posting" that your dealer would not want you to see!

Call this a "Public Records posting"

Seems to me that this car dealer has gone to court many times. Can say who was right or who was wrong.

Lori If you want me to post info that will help you tell many as to how you feel, just post a request for it. I can show you how to expose in a big way.
