Sears store in Timmins, Ontario, Canada There was candles that were advertised at 80% off but they would not let me have them at the sale price. I even took a picture of the sale price advertised. Timmins, Ontario

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...
There was candle priced at $4.99 each behind a sign that said they were 80% off but the cash register attendant would not give me the sale price. She said they were not on sale but I have a picture to prove to the contrary.
I think that this is false advertising. So if you don't want to have sales, just don't avertise as so.

We dont understand your point sorry. It really just sounds like you wanted 80% EXTRA on top of what they had already taken off. If the candle was marked at $4.99 then odds are that the discount was ALREADY applied to that item. Most if not all retail stores, if they are having a clearance, tend to CORRECTLY mark the price before they every put up ANY clearance sign. WHY?? You might ask, because they dont want to have to sit there and either TEACH YOU BASIC MATH or have to answer the usual consumer questions of "How much is this with XX% off?"
