When I called The U.S. Department of Education, they told me this was a scam. They never received any funds from Select Student Services to pay off my student loans. They lied to The U.S. Department of Education making it appear that the loan was paid off and there was a zero balance due. They actually differed the loan by lying and now this month's amount due to The U.S. Department of Education is $700. Having the loan deferred cost me an additional $700 in interest on the outstanding loan.
