I was contacted by phone and offered silver Franklin Half Dollers in original mint rolls, uncirculated, to hedge against a drop in the dollar and stock market. The prices steadily rose from $400 a roll to over $1,000 and then to $1,800 per roll.
I needed some cash and tried to sell a couple of these rolls and that is when I found that I had been paying triple the going price for these coins and that silver would have to rise to $75.00 an ounce to ever recoupe my investment.
