I received the offer to be a mystery shopper for this company. I thought that I had done my homework. I spoke to an individual several times as I completed the assignment. When completed I was asked to fax papers to prove what I had done. I was paid in the Cashier's check.
My bank looked over the cashier's check, cashed the Cashier's Check sent and I did the shopping and tasks as requested. Now I find this report when I could not find it before cashing the check.
My concern is what now?

Yes I was scammed and am now responsible for paying back nearly $5K to my bank. When I confronted the individual responsible she hung up.

I just hope you have enough money in your account to cover that check + fees when it bounces. If not, you will prbably be arrested and prosecuted for bank fraud. Check the HUNDREDS of reports on this site for this scam. The banks are not showing any mercy, as this scam has been going on for a LONG time, and they are tired of fools still falling for it.
