I had a horse shipped up from New Mexico and when she arrived she was very thin. Not like the photos that were sent to me. I was told by Seth that this was one of his best horses , well mannered and safe for an older woman. She had terrible ground manners. very pushy when I was walking and feeding her. Seth also told me she had no injury marks on her. She had an old scar on her left front leg above her hoof, and also not very old two horse prints on her chest from being kicked.
When my vet did an exam, besides finding uncared for teeth, she noticed a very odd rear end problem that she thought looked neurological. She sent blood to the lab and the horse was diagnosed with EPM and I was told she wasn't safe to ride.
I was clearly ripped off.

So you are saying if you reply to a livestock ad and what is sent to you is not what was represented, it’s on you? So the seller has no responsibility to the buyer for an honest representation of the animal?? That is like a meat processing plant being sold diseased meat and packaging it up as safe to eat.
How are there 2 different standards?? Be honest, know the breed you are selling, expose the quirks to protect your reputation as a horse seller. Yes, Buyer Beware. That is why we are speaking up on this platform.

EPM diagnosis

I, too, bought a horse from Seth Chase and she also tested positive for EPM. I am currently treating her. I hope you go that route with your horse from him also. Mine is making progress and is turning into the horse she said he was. Since it isn't the horse's fault, my attitude has been that I'm glad I got her away from him. Her teeth were awful and she was a neurological mess, but after she has settled in and I pursued treatment, she is coming along.

If you did not see the horse before you bought the horse then you have not been ripped off. I have never, EVER, bought a horse unseen nor ridden. Therefore the only thing you have is buyers remorse for not doing your due diligence. I feel for that poor horse.
