Shadowlake Management - Riverview Villas dodging , incompentent managers, fraudulent charging New Orleans Louisiana

I lived in Riverview Villas from 2002-2003. During that time there was always a problem. First my alarm didn't work for the first five months. I kept calling and everytime they sent a service person out there was always some other pert that needed to be ordered.

Since this amenity was included in the price for rent (monitoring charges and such) I asked for a credit to my rent. I was told I would have to talk to the district manager Dana who I was never able to get in touch with nor did she return my calls. And no one in the leasing office can do anything without her. So I decided I would call the office every other day until the problem was resolved.

During this same time my lights would flicker constantly. They would go real dim then extremely bright and burn out my light bulbs. This went on for nine months until I moved out. everytime someone came out I was told the problem was resolved only to have it happen again that same day they came to my apartment!

It was so bad at times I had to replace four bulbs a week. After being given the run around about what caused the problem and when it would be fixed I finally talked to Dana the district manager I made it very clear how unhappy and disatisfied I was with everything.

After several conversations over 2 months I told her I was contacting my lawyer. She then advised me it would be okay if I moved out at then end of the month that I had paid for which was august and since i had signed my lease that previous september there would be no termination fees.

She told me all I had to do was go into the leasing office and give them my notice to vacate. She said she would contact them and everything would be taken care of from her end. So that's what I did and the leasing manager filled out a notice to vacate
which stated I had provided proper notice.

Two months later I started receiving notices which stated I had broken my lease and I owed $375. I immediately called and I was told because I had a vacate notice that said I had given proper notice they would take care of it. After all I had been through I decided to call the district manager and make sure it would be handled properly. She was very apologetic and she said the matter would be straightened out.

Last month I applied for an apartment and was denied do to previous landlord history. I check my credit and as of august 2005 Riverview Villas appears on my credit report with an unpaid balance of $988. Now I've evacuated to Atlanta and I can't get a place to live.

I tied calling the complex and the ledy that answered said i would need to speak with the district manger and of course that's Dana. That was a week ago and she hasn't returned my call yet. I called the main office and I was told that she's hard to get in touch with so there's no telling when she would call me back.

This has ruined my credit and my life since I have no where to live and can not get a job in my field because my credit check come back with negative history. Everyone beware of this company.
