I ordered Meaningful Beauty-Cindy Crawford and had an ad by Sheer Cover pop up telling me I was receiving a special because I had ordered the Meaningful Beauty products. It said I could get a "trial" kit for $9.99 with a money back guarantee.

Then as I went on, it asked me to choose between a one month and three month supply. I thought this odd for a "trial" so as I read on- and it is hard to find, it states it is a recurring monthly charge if you do not cancel before the 30 days. So since it had a money back guarantee, I decided to try it.

After using the product for about two weeks, I was unhappy with the results. It did not provide good coverage and I had to use additional products with it. I called Customer Service and told them this is why I wanted to cancel and the person told me that I still owed $89.92 on my account. I asked him how this could be because it was only $9.99 and then he informed me that the $9.99 was only an installment. One of four. The total charge for the product is $99.80.

I had not opened the paperwork sent with the makeup because it said "this is not a bill." I then opened that paperwork and saw- in very tiny print in the corner- that it showed those installment payments. It sure looked like a bill to me. So I told that person that I did not owe them anything because I was returning their product as stated in the "money back guarantee" and should get a refund. He then explained to me that they were going to post charges to my account until they received the product (he did not state how much).  I asked him to clarify- if he was holding my checking account hostage until he received the product- and he did not have an answer. I tried to find somewhere in my paperwork, or on the website, that stated these terms attached to the money back guarantee. No where could I find that you would be charged for sending their product back. I'm certainly  not paying for something I don't even have in my possession.

I find this type of company to be deceiving, distrustful and dishonest in its policies. I only wish I'd researched it before I ordered it. But then, when companies like this only run these ads in the middle of the night, they bank on the people like me who cannot sleep to not be in their full senses to purchase under these circumstances to begin with. If they were truly legitimate, why don't they run their commercials in the middle of The Ellen Show or Good Morning America, instead of "Who the Bleep Did I Marry? at 3am.
