Workmen were sloppy, left garbage and debris all over owner's property. They punctured the air conditioning tube on the exterior of the building and tried to deceive the owner. When confronted with the damage, evidence and report from the HVAC repair company, they ignored the owner's complaint and took no responsibility for the $850 repair bill.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

you probably didn't notice the fine print

AUTHOR: Pablo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 22, 2006

Nobody ever sees the fine print contract clauses when they sign for a construction job. But I'm sure somewhere in it is a clause that clearly states " we are not liable for incidental, consequential or accidental damage to the property ". And you signed off on this waiver so looks like you will have to repair it yourself. I've seen this many times where people blindly sign anything thats put in front of them and only look after a event like yours.
