Signature Healthcare Signature Medical Group Over charges Brockton Massachusetts

In July of 2012 my whife fell and broke her femer. After the operation she was sent to Life Care Center in West Bridgewater for rehab. Which is a very good rehab. facility.

While there she was seen three times by a Doctor that worked for Signature Medical. Each visit was for less than five Minutes. The first and second visit were priced at 160.00 each and the third was  for 355.00. The insurance paid 121.75. Signature sent me a bill for 553.25

I called Signature and told them that less than a five minute visit each time did noy justify the charge of 25 minutes each for two visits and 45 minutes for the final visit was fair or in my oppnion legal. Doreen at Signature took all my info and said they would get back to me.

I called them a half dozen times and was given one excuse or another why  they have not gotten back to me. I sent them a payment for 93.95 telling Doreen that that was all I thought they deserved, she said don't worry about it.

For months after that I recieved no bills or phone calles. Then on 6/23/2013 almost after a year after the first contact with them I get another bill for 299.30.

I called and spoke with Joan Bullman of Signature Healthcare and went over the whole thing again. I told her I did not feel I was responsible for the over charges that they billed, it is a well known fact that medical billing people are told to over bill and see what the Insurance co. will pay then collect the rest from the patient. They finally sent me a letter stating the Doctors notes and documentation were in line with there guidelines.

Then to top it off they sent my bill to a collection agency. I paid it because my credit score is very high and did not want to soil it because of them.

All they had to do is make a policy adjustment and mark the bill paid. Now I want my 299.00 Dollors back with an appolligy. 

If you are unfortunate enough to have to go to a rehab place, and see Signature Health Care as the vender. Tell them to just leave.
