Sila's Auto Works ripoff, not honoring warranty, Coon Rapids Minnesota
*Consumer Comment: So, What's the Problem?? If it says 6 months, take them to small claims court. If it says 3 months, then it's your fault.
had transmission replaced on 3/1/05 and were told by the company that we had a 6 month warranty. the cost of this repair was $959.00.
after getting the vehicle back, still continued to have trasmision problems. brought the vehicle back 2 more times and it was kept for several days at a time with no repairs made to reticfiy the faulty trasmission.
the transmission again went out completely on 6/28/05, still with in the warranty period and were told by the car shop that the warranty was only for 3 months and that we would have to pay them another $700 to have the transmission replaced a second time.

Look at the receipt. If it says 6 months, take them to small claims court. If it says 3 months, then it's your fault. If it doesn't say anything, then again, it's your fault for not getting it in writing.
My suggestion to you is if you don't have proof, have a friend go to the shop, tell them he needs to have his transmission fixed and he needs an estimate in writing for his insurance company. Tell him to make them write the warranty down on the estimate.
Take that to court with you, proving that they told you it was a 6 month warranty.
