About 2 weeks ago my son and I were traveling down Union Hills Rd when my son saw a huge sign reading PUPPIES. Reluctantly I agreed to circle around and stop and see the puppies. What we saw were what we were told was the last two remaining Golden Retriever Puppies of a litter of 11 total puppies. The young dogs we were told were 4 months old. A man by the name of Sean Denny was selling the dogs for his brother who, because of some problems, was getting out of the puppy breeding business and as a result was selling the puppies at a sacrificed price of $500 each.

Not having $500 to spare at that moment, I asked Mr. Denny if he was expecting any more litters in the near future. He said that he would have a litter due sometime in April/08 but because those expected pups were of a very high pedigree they would cost upwards of $2500. He went on to explain that the pups he was selling along side the road that day were of lesser pedigree and were not of championship lines and that was why they were only $500 dollars down from their original price of $1,500. He went on to tell me that he and his family have been breeding championship Golden Retrievers for years and in fact his father's kennel was located somewhere in Virginia I think and he welcomed us to look up the Silvermine Kennels online. He mention a few names of so called championship lines that he was breeding with but I really didn't pay much attention to all of that.

I asked for his phone number or card so we might contact him in the future explaining that $500 was too hard to come up with right now but maybe by April we would be able to afford one of the expected pups. He /Sean Denny/ ask us what could we afford right now? I said that $500 was not unreasonable for a pedigree Cream English Golden Retriever...before I could finish he offer the puppy to us for $300. I was shocked. WOW! I thought. How lucky are we to find such a great deal!

Well, as it turns out maybe it wasn't such a great deal after all. I sat down at my computer to look up some tips and ideas on Golden Retrievers and dog training in general. What do I come across but, a Ripoff Report from a women in California reguarding the very same people that we just purchased our puppy from. Needless to say, I felt suddenly sick to my stomach.

I knew better than to trust someone selling puppies along side the road. My husband had warned against it but I just had to take advantage of this great deal.

My advice is to stay away from the Denny's (Sean, Mike or Zachery) and the Silvermine Kennel either in Virginia or Arizona. Oh yeah, Sean told me that his brother (Zachery I assume) didn't have the AKC papers just yet but would be recieving them shortly and he would forward them to us directly.

Well, it''s been two weeks and from what I've gathered about these unscripulious, degenerit's, is that it'll be two weeks after it snows in hell when I'll recieve any pedigree papers on our dog.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Lesson learned...always check on the breeder and never, ever purchase a puppy from someone selling them along side the road.

!!!WOULD LIKE TO RETRACT MY FIRST REPORT - Re: Sean Denny and the Silvermine Kennels!!!!

AUTHOR: Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 14, 2008

In my initial report I stated some facts about Mr. Denny and the puppy we purchased from him. After this report was filed I recieved a phone call from Sean. He was extremly upset and angry that I had written this report and that I made reference to his fathers kennels back east. Mr Denny asked me to retract my statements re: his father and his breeding business in Kentucky, which I am willing to do.

Personally I have never had any dealings with the Silvemine Kennels that are owned by Sean Denny's father. I apologise to his father and to Sean.

I will say that the puppy I purchased from Sean several weeks ago is doing very well. The dog is healthy, happy and is growing and getting bigger every day.

Two days ago we did finially recieve the AKC Registration Application from Zachary Denny. I have some questions re: why we can only apply for a limited registration and as of this writting I have not yet asked Mr. Denny about this limitation re: the dogs breeding and showing and what exactly does that mean. We do have any intentions on breeding Golden Retrievers nor do we intend to show our little pup "Luke" in any dog shows. However, I am curious to understand what "Limited Registration" means interms of the dogs actual breeding and will follow-up with Mr. Denny.

All-in-all, what we got was a happy, healthy creamy white Golden Retriever puppy. I feel comfortable saying that we believe that our little Lucas will develop into a beautiful, loving, family dog.

I apologise again to Mr. Denny and his family.

I am a shihtzu lover and pet owner Do not Buy from Side of Road inspect all parents of puppy you will adopt. DO RESEARCH some vets as one in Mississippi another breeder told me he fixed a litter of inginual hernias that is the bad kind not to be reproduced. If a vet is doing it I should turn him in but is that illegal. I heard from another breeder so no facts but Why would a breeder of 5-10 litters a yr. lie?? lol

I don't know why I am even included in this report or for that matter the other report concerning my sons Zachary and Sean. I have had no dealings with these people other than to other a refund of monies that I personally did not receive and now to call my son's to see that this lady gets her AKC paper work. She fails to mention that in an email she sent me yesterday she said that she had a healthy well fed puppy. She also fails to mention that although she has Sean's phone # that she did not call him to ask about the paperwork. Again I don't know why I am included in this report. What did I do wrong.
