I was on the computer when out of nowhere an ad pops up saying that I will receive a product for answering a survey. I fill out the survey and they give me the option of receiving two products but I only choose one. The product comes in the mail and I think nothing of it until recently when I check on my account and $90 is unaccounted for.

Not being able to account for how this money left my account I first think someone stole my card number. After thinking through the situation and remembering that my card has a chip I then look through my bank statement. I then see that the company I took the survey from deducted the money.

I call them immediately and an automated machine asks if I want to cancel the account. I am dumbfounded since I never opened an account. I reply yes, then they ask me if I want to speak to a representative and I again respond yes.

They ask me what they can help me with and I tell them of the money taken from my account. They tell me its taken care of then I hang up. I wait a few days then check my account and the money is still missing so I wait a few days then check it again and there is no change.

I call them again asking why the money hasn't been restored then they tell me that the product I thought was free for answering a survey wasn't free. This supposed free gift was in actuality not only not free, but was a trial period whereby money was to be automatically deducted from my account and that I only had 14 days to cancel if I wanted my money back.

My confusion turns to anger.  I then ask them how they can charge someone for something they say is free for answering a survey?. or why a man would be ordering aging cream? They dont respond to that question.

The simple answer to that question is because it was listed as one of the prizes offered for answering the survey.
