I placed my order with SkyPoint on December 19, 2009 for a canon 24-70mm digital zoom lens.  At this time a requested 3rd day air.

On December 20 and 21st I was sent an email saying that in order to complete my order I needed to call SkyPoint and confirm.  At this point the 3rd day air was not going to get my package here for Christmas so I had to upgrade my shipping to 2nd day air.  I was under the impression that the clerk on the phone would upgrade at no additional charge since it was difficult for me to reach them due to the time change with the east coast.  I was also told by the person on the phone that the lens I had ordered would not work  as well with my daughters camera as the one that is made for digital cameras.  He explained that for an additional  100.00 more I could get the correct lens.  I agreed to the additional charge.  At this time I was not aware not only was the  representative switching me to a more compatible lens but he was also switching me to a different  brand as well.  I would have never agreed to this as my daughter can only use a Canon lens for her school application.  I had no idea that I was getting a Sigma lens.  I was in tears when the Sigma lens arrived on Christmas Eve and I did not have the correct thing.  This was to be a very big surprise for my daughter at Christmas time.  SkyPoint was closed so I had no options at this point.

On December 28th I called SkyPoint and was told that I was crazy to think that I would get the Canon lens for this price and that if I wanted to send the Sigma lens back there would be a 10% restocking fee and I would lose the shipping cost of 44.70 as well as the shipping back to them.  I was shocked at this since they had sent me something other than what I ordered.   The representative was horrible on the phone.  I have never experienced anything like this!  I asked to speak to a supervisor who was a bit better but did not think they had done anything wrong and insisted that I knew that they were sending a different brand of lens than what I ordered.  He then offered to give me 100.00 off on the Sigma lens if I would keep it.  This would make the price of the Sigma Lens 799.00.  Several websites offer this same lens for 569.00.  I declined his offer and reiterated that I ordered a Canon lens and only wanted a Canon lens.  I asked again if I could just return the lens for a refund.  The supervisor then told me that if I wanted the Canon lens that he would order it for me from Canon if I would pay an additional 400.00.  This would make the total cost of the Canon lens 1299.00 which again is higher than other websites.  I told the supervisor that I would have to think about this.  When I got off the phone I felt completely mislead, frustrated and felt that I had no options.  An additional 400.00 was not something that I could afford.  I have never had an experience like this before.  I really feel like it was that intention of the retailer to bait and switch.

In the mean time my daughter needs the lens for her school projects.  I decided to call again and see if the supervisor would negotiate and at least meet the price of other websites for the Canon lens.  This call was made on January 21, 2010.  At this time the supervisor yelled at me on the phone and told me that I could no longer return the lens.  At this point I told him that I had disputed the charge with Bank of America.  He then told me that he would only talk with me after I stopped the process of dispute with B of A.  Once again I have never had an experience like this before!!   I feel bullied and intimidated by this man.  (Robert)

This story only gets worse as Bank of America has also been difficult to deal with.  It is now April 22nd and this matter is not resolved!!!
