I purchased a book from DiscountBookSale.com and got an e-mail saying I would be charged for the book when it was shipped. In discussing this with my visa card holder I was told that I was charged right away in the middle of the night. Right after the DiscountBookSale.com e-mail I got an e-mail from SmartSavingsCenter.com and in the bottom in the fine print (it turns out the same fine print is in the DiscountBookSale.com e-mail) it states that I am a free member for 7 days and they will then bill me $30 per month for this honor. To cancel I only need call a phone number, and when I attempt to call that number I never get a person. So I am stuck. Pay unless you call the number, but when I call they will not answer.

Visa tells me to dispute the charges when I am billed and that appears to be the only way to get my money back.

Be warned, these guys are scamers, do not do business with either SmartSavingsCenter.com or DiscountBookSale.com.

DiscountBookSale.com and SmartSavingsCenter.com

AUTHOR: Andrew - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 09, 2009

It happened to me too. I ordered book from DiscountBookSale.com and I used my Debit card to purchase a book. The website didn't informed me that book is out of stock and let me do checkout. I entered all information and submitted order. Few days later I noticed that there is a charge of $1 from my Credit Card (not Debit card I used). I called credit card company and I disputed this charge. I was lucky that this card is not hooked up to any automatic payments so I could just cancel card and get a new one.

BTW: Go to DiscountBookSale.com and order anything, then press check out and then you choose New Customer you will see a samll text on the left side:

" By clicking "Submit Order", you also agree to activate your separate membership to SmartSavingsCenter at the special low price of just $1 per month. To ensure continuous service, your membership will be automatically charged (debited) each month at the then-current membership fee to the credit card you provide today or from the checking account associated with the debit card you provide today. If for any reason you are dissatisfied, call SmartSavingsCenter toll-free at 1-866-707-5858 to cancel, and you'll no longer be charged (debited)."

My advice : PLEASE READ WHEN YOU BUYING FROM NEW WEBSITE !!!!
