I had the machine about a week. I pumped the machine as instructed, it started to leak so I put it in the sink. I placed my hand on the bottle and it exploded!!!!! I was only saved because the majority of the schrapnel went off in the sink. The part above the sink line flew into my belly. My hand was so red, hurt like nothing I've ever felt and was also bleeding. It sent me to the emergency room. I found shards in other rooms days later. Very dangerous!!!!

SodaStream warns NOT to add the flavoring until AFTER carbonating. If you do it in reverse, it will seriously over-pressure the plastic bottle. Glad you weren't SERIOUSLY injured.
