BEWARE OF SONABANK

THEY WILL KEEP YOUR FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS

My mother is 96 years of age. I am trying to recover her investments. She had $52,082 in a money market with Atlantic Savings. They merged with Sonabank in 2009.

I  called Sonabank and spoke with Bill Lagos (sp?) at 202-464-1130, ext, 2407. He confirmed that Atlantic Savings merged with Sonabank, but said they acquired only one branch. I asked him if that were true, then who purchased the other branches. He said he couldn't provide any further information.

My conversations with other banks indicate that this merger of one branch would be highly unusual if nit illegal. They suggest that Sonabank has not been forthcoming regarding the investments.

My mother wants only the money she is entitled to, including all interests.

Are there more banks that have merged that your mom had investments in, or are there more medical professionals that mis-treated your mom?

Right now I think it is about even.

I highly suggest you contact professional help to assist you. Whether that is Legal help or other help is up to you.

Bank mergers

You state the original account was with Atlantic Savings. Sonabank merged with Greater Atlantic Bank in 2009. Atlantic Savings Bank merged with Wachovia in 2003. Wachovia Bank was merged with Wells Fargo.

If the account was with Atlantic Savings, Wells Fargo should have record of that.

As far as the one branch part, it's possible what they meant was that Sonabank purchased that one particular building location.
