I ordered a cellphone from Soonersoft on Amazon for a business purpose to work on a customer issue. The phone was advertised to have Android 4.4 OS version. The delivered device had 5.1, so I would have to downgrade. When I indicated that to the seller, the seller replied that all the "other 30 sellers" (?) do that (e.g. install upgrades without amending the item description). I left a customer feedback on Amazon explaining what had happened and my feedback was swiftly removed (now I understand why all the others were positive, haha).

The seller admitted there was a mismatch that neither previous customers nor the aggregator (Amazon) have ever deemed imporant (and that Amazon even silenced by removing up-to-date version information from used/refurbished item descriptions). We agreed upon a satisfactory refund and, more importantly, upon a policy change, i.e. a proper disclaimer to make sure the customers who are looking for a specific firmware version (rather than merely the latest) can make an informed decision. The resolution has been swift and took less than a night.
