I always check out a prospective employer. A couple of red flags came up but they weren't really significant at the time. That's why I am posting this to warn others about this company. If I would have read what i am going to write there would have been no question as to going to work for this company.

Employee Beware!! This company has been around for a few years. One of the principals, Paul Burton has possibly opened and closed many businesses. Check out
(((link redacted))).

It's interesting they have a problem paying their corporate filing fees in FL and GA. They might also have a filed company in New or NJ.

I was hired with 12 others for a "new" campaign in telemarketing. They didn't ask for a ss card, drivers license, drug test, no I-9 to make sure I was entitled to work, no GA witholding form. No clock in or out to keep track of hrs. (supposed to be paid a base which was never put in writing!!!

Yeah, I know now I was stupid to put in 4 full days until they fired me for no cause. (It was a made up reason b/c I think they realized their great expectations for the New campaign weren't going to be realized. ) I was the 2nd to be let go. That leaves 10. I assume most of them will meet the same fate.

One other point. Your commission doesn't get paid until 60 days later. When "I" asked when we would get paid our base, I was told "around" the 15th and 30th of the month.

One other red flag I noticed going to the interview... A sign on the front door saying,, "no Complaints Beyond Here" What could the current employees be complaining about? Pay maybe!! Oh. another thing. Our new group was told not to talk to the current group. Another red flag..

These folks are slick and are taking advantage of people who need to work. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

#2 UPDATE Employee

An honest assesment of this company.

AUTHOR: Dufoe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 06, 2009

First of all I'd like to thank the original poster for taking the time to make some important information available to those potential future employees who do their due diligence in researching this company.

I am a current employee at One Source, located at 3000 Business Park Dr. STE A, Norcross GA. I would say that anyone that comes here to post in regards to One Source is potentially a little biased either way, so I will attempt to be objective as possible when explaining their business model! Mr. Scott is the gentleman who will be training you in your new hire class, so if you were to read this under the assumption the original poster was speaking at least part of the truth, your best bet is to disregard any rebuttal he may post, considering his position with One Source.

This is how the entire process will work. You will submit a resume to our HR "director" Micky. She will then contact you and schedule a date for an interview, this will most likely be the last time you will hear from their one woman HR department. You will arrive for the interview and be greeted by one of the two owners, he will most likely be wearing a pair of holy, ragged painters jeans and a horribly wrinkly untucked dress shirt, don't let this startle you, while lacking professionalism, he is a very nice individual! THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL BE PAID BETWEEN 10-18$ AN HOUR, PLUS++ COMMISSION, BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCE.(You will later be given a pay sheet (during training) which details their tiered payment system which has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with your experience, and pay you 10$ an hour.) ****Either before or after your interview (if you are male) please take a few moments to visit their restroom**** You will see photos on the walls directly infront of your urinal or toilet with pictures of a young boy sitting on a toilet, on each photo someone has drawn in a large rendition of his male genitalia.

Day one at work will consist of a half day of very light training (mostly vocabulary and telecoms acronyms) and maybe 10 minutes of practicing the Script they give you to read on the phone. After lunch they take you to the back of the room to your cubicle.... (where the AC is non-existent, so please, for your own sake, when they say dress casual, dress comfortable) ... where you will have a screen and a headset that is reminiscent of the early 1990's. You will be on an AUTOMATIC DIALER all day long, meaning once your headset picks the call up, there is already a person (usually a secretary) saying hello (no ringing) on the other end of the phone. We call this person the "Gatekeeper" and our goal is to lie or manipulate our way past this person to get to the "DM or Decision Maker". (Yes they will give you a script for your first day but then later encourage you to deviate from it to have better success). Through out any typical day you will have the owners listening in and out on your calls. Technically you are required to state that you are calling "On behalf of Verizon" not calling "with" or "from" etc, you will soon find that aslong as the Verizion Representative is not at the office (Which she very very rarely is) they will encourage you to tell the consumer that you are actually calling "with" Verizon. These phone calls will continue 9:00am - 5:30pm with two fifteen minute breaks and a one hour lunch.

Pro's: Wonderful hours- Ability to wear shorts and a T shirt to work- Potential to make roughly $50,000/$60,000 a year if you are very very good. (Don't let them fool you with any higher earning numbers)

Con's: No drug testing (Many employees and managers talking about buying Coke and smoking pot)- No background checks (Lots of very very low class poorly educated employees)

No Moral Compass: Examples- When I was still in training (On the dialer) I was connected to this old lady, probably in her late 70's, and when I asked to speak to the person incharge of her business account she started to cry, she informed me that her husband had died of cancer 2 years prior and that there is no business any longer. She also informed me that this was the 7th phone call she had received in 3 days alone from us and asked very very nicely "Please is there anything you can do to stop the phone calls?" ... I turned to Scott and asked him if there was any way we could take her off the list, as the phone calls were obviously causing her pain, and his response was "Just tell her you'll take her off and hang up on her." ... Come to find out, they don't have the ability to take anyone off the list.. Just another example of the lack of conscience these people have.

Scott was also gloating over: a call back he had scheduled with a young woman named Jessica (I believe the name is correct), when he called they informed him that she had died the day before... and, with a smile on his face, he proceeded to tell us how he asked "Can I speak to her boss then?".

From what I've gathered in my time with this company is that they continually hire between 8 and 12 new guys a week and throw them on the dialer. They generate leads for the more permanent employees who actually make commission. They gradually let people go starting on roughly the 4th day of training until they have 2-4 people left, and at the end of the day, on the very last day of training they fire all but 1 or 2.

If you do the math assuming this is a legitimate company, there are between 35 and 45 workable desks in the office, even at a 50% turnover rate in classes of an average size of 10, that's 5 new permanent employees every 3 weeks. If they started with 0 desks full it would take them roughly 6 and 1/2 months to fill these seats with permanent, good sales people. If you take into account this company has been around for years, and the fact that there are absolutely 0 employees who work the dialer permanently (other than the training classes) you start to get a clear picture of how they do their business. They hire new guys to generate leads for the rest of us to call back and close and earn commission on, and then fire almost 84% of the trainees before they graduate and are able to start earning commission. Essentially paying a revolving door of new guys $10/hr to sell a product for a month and collect a $600 paycheck and a 250$ paycheck (as they only pay you for 7 hours a day for 3 weeks if you make it that long without being canned).

AUTHOR: Scott Lassiter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 10, 2008

Hello everyone. My name is Scott Lassiter and I was in Williams class. I am still here along with others in that same class. I can better tell about this company because I was not fired in 4 days. First thing we should clear up is this...it is a sales job. Results equals job security. Its been that way in sales since the invention of calculators.William...how many sales did you close in four days? The people that were let go were the bottom of the class with ZERO sales.

Lets get down to business. Pay is not an issue. We have a pay calendar and it has ran like clockwork. 3 out of the original 12 hires have been lucky enough to get a 20 % base increase. Basicly 25 % of the class was promoted. Why? Results. Seats costs money in sales. If you sell you get a seat.(and a raise)
Commission pay. It is paid every month on the second. The only catch is this....you must have deals on the books to get paid.
Thanks for your time everyone and if you have any questions please email me. If you are an aggressive go getter, email me also. One Source could use you.
Scott Lassiter
