Spilsbury sold me a Christmas toy (a Mario Kart racer) for my 10 year old for $64.00. It was defective. They took it back and promised a refund. After dancing me around for months, their phone message now says, "Spilsbury is closed". They apparently have gone out of business, ripping off me and my child.

I checked their website and they have in fact gone out of business. This is the info I found.

Please be advised that the operations of Spilsbury Puzzle Company have ceased. Spilsbury Puzzle Company executed an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors on February 23, 2007.

Please direct any creditor related questions or comments to the Assignee's office to the attention of Steven Victor or Matt Farnsworth at (312) 263-4141. A Notice of Assignment will be mailed to all known creditors in the near future.

Orders placed on this website after Thursday, February 15th have not been shipped nor have credit cards been charged. Also, product or customer service questions are not being addressed by the Assignee.

Since they owe you for a product refund you are a creditor. Call this company soon as there is likely a time limit for making claims. I have ordered from Spillsbury for years without problems so you should not have any trouble getting your money back. Good luck!
