My semi trailer had an issue with a bearing. This company sent out a wrecker big enough to beach the Titanic. They said they had to offload my cargo and would not tow it to either of the two places I requested. They towed it AND the truck to their yard and said their shop could fix it. They charges us $4700 for labor, $1200 to remove the two tires $500 for the use of two palet jacks, $1500 for the use of their truck and trailer, $850 for towing, $1000 to transport the cargo 8 miles and misc. charges to total about $12,000. This is outrageous.

The 7 men at $50 per hour was way overboard, especially when at any given time, at least 3 of them were juststanding around.

I would not expect you to know this word because of your lack of knowledge but the owner is an attorney if you keep up your bad mouthing he will sue you for slander . Not that you have anything you barely have teeth in your head , Comes to find out your not even the owner but just driver with no knowledge of business . You keep it up you will be out of a job because you will almost cost your owner thousands of more because of the load still in my trailer .

No lies here

AUTHOR: Michael - (United States of America)

Ok..I stand corrected..$50 per quarter hour ($200 per hour) is worse yet..Especially for the "men" that were there..I forgot to add the point about the forklift driver using the forklift to lift the back of the trailer, not getting it positioned correctly and having the trailer SLAM down when he lifted it..And now I know why "New Yorkers" as well as those living in suppounding areas are so bitter and m..They chargeean..It is because of companies like yours charging those prices and getting away with it..I am bitter and I only experienced it once..NEVER again...

The bearings were NOT siezed on the spindle..As for the charges..The general response from people I talk to, which is EVERYONE I come in contact with, is that of pure disgussed and amazement..Come on, really..How do you justify Charging $200 per hour per man, while paying them at best $20 per hour? How do you justify the charge of $1175 to take off 2 tires (From the same hub)..I asked a mechanic who also works for Road King..He charges $150 for that same job and that is for a roadside call after hours..NOT $1175...

Rebutting with the likes of you is pointless...

You are still hiding the truth

AUTHOR: sittowing - (United States of America)

My workers did the work  i had three in each trailer and 1 fork lift operator and 1 supervisor , The rates you where charged are what we charge for the NYC highway even thou you where not on their property we use their rates as a guide line . I will stand by my rates and defend what we did . If you wanna disregard for peoples safety that is your poragative , I will not jeapordize peoples safety and yes checking fluids is part of your pre trip . That is why truckers like yourself injure and kill people because of your lack of safety and disregard and it shows by the condition of your equipment  . By the way your load is still in my trailer collecting storage . You are a very disorganized comapny , truck was sent exactly when you told my dispatcher to . And you stop lying to people , your rates that you where charged was $ 50.00 per quarter hour each man ,$ 225.00 an hour for a forkilift , transportation of forklift both ways was $ 250.00 ( do you expect for the forklift to get there by it self or drive it on the highway tying up traffic , Wait iam explaining to a guy who wanted to drive a truck over a 2 mile bridge with his wheels falling off ) Yes I charged you to bring my tractor and trailer to the scene as well as keeping your load in my equipment tying it up for days , then going to NJ to off load the product .  As far as the transporting to NJ $ 1000.00  you could have came and picked up teh load your self . You could have hired another service and off loaded in the street your had your option once bill was paid . We are a business we pay insurance , workers comp , and all other bills unlike you just because you may transport a load for what ever you do doesnt mean we are in the same business and we sure dont have the same expenses . Why dont you pick up your load . And as NY standards you have no idea what you are talking about . I know that was on the low end for some of teh off loads believe me . Show me an invoice from another NYC tower  for an off load , tow , transport to NJ , No storage , and removing tires and I will not charge you additional storage and transport to NJ for second time for free .

You posted lies

AUTHOR: Michael - (United States of America)

First of all, I was there and saw with my own eyes the men standing around..The load in question was supposed fo be delivered by your company the day before. YOUR man was a day late. The charges are outrageous even for New York standards.Trailer maintenance was supposex to be performed less than 30TA days prior to this. An issue to be addressed when I return. Pre-trips do not necessarily include opening the hub to check the grease. I asked for the truck to their be towed to a place to be fixed. I was denied that right, as your guy said your shop could do the repairs. That was a lie, as the "mechanic", who is a drifter from Califlrnia admitted he was no mechanic. The charges of $1125 to remove 1 set of tires is rediculous. $1700 for the use of a truck and trailer? Astronomical! $500 to use 2 pallet jack? $500 to transport a forklift plus $675 to use said corklift? Crazy. You want to talk about safety..We were made to ride in the cab of our truck while being towed. Not only unsafe but illegal.

I am a safe driver. I have just under 1,000,000 miles driven with no accidents that were my fault and not one moving violations and only 3 minor equipment violations on my record in the past 11 years.

I stand by my claims and will continue to show all whom I contact the bill.

The trailer was repaired for $2100. Nothing was "melted" as you claim. All the bearing races slide right off the spindle. I have the report from the mechanic who did the repairs as well as pictures.

Explanation and truth of services Performed

AUTHOR: sittowing - (United States of America)

I would like to explain the services to the public Michael because you are not telling the true story and why the cost was what it was . Yes your cargo was off loaded by our company and yes the bill was around $ 11,000.00 . Now here is what your are not telling people , Your tractor trailer unit could not be towed , your rear axle of the trailer was severely damaged due to your bearings seized and melted the spindle . You should have checked the oil which is a simple task and that should be done on a regular basis . Which your company safety comes to question because that should be done part of your pre trip .

If I was to tow your unit and your wheel flew off a killed someone who would be responsible ? Our company . I know you seemed to have no regard for any ones safety because you where telling your driver to drive it that way over the bridge which is over 2 miles . Your trailer was an air ride system and with your load on it , it would not be safe to sustain a load on one set of wheels and your suspension would not of been able to hold trailer up off the tires . As for your statement my men where inside the trailers 3 in each due to the weight and the floors of the refrigerated trailers . You where not there so your statement was not true about my guys standing around . Your company is obviously your is disorganized because we sent the trailer to your place of choice to be off loaded and you did not even have an appointment ,we had to come back and we still have your load in our trailer .

My bill includes going to NJ also as well as the work performed on the side of the highway .  Now to answer one more question you could not of performed road service where you where that is a major repair and that was not getting done where your truck was .
