This is indeed good news. But what a time this has taken, and he was still at it during the hearing!!!
So has anyone got their money back yet? Can anyone help regards this?

 The defendant disregarded warnings from law enforcement and continued to steal knowing he would never make good on his promises, said Assistant District Attorney Rodolfo Ramirez. 

While out on bond he talked his last employer, a local flange provider, into buying a machine from him. The employer paid and it wad not delivered. What a blight on our industry.

I understand Steven Levin (Levine) was sentenced to 30 years in the TDC. I understand it was your efforts (the Scottish poster) along with thise of Caterpillar Corp. that contributed to his prosecution. The number of businesses he victimized is mind boggling. Currently white collar criminals are serving an average of about 2 months per year of sentence. It is my understanding that he continued his fraudulent activity while awaiting trial and sentencing, which contributed to his lengthy sentence. I also understand he has ballooned to about 275 lbs. and is an insulin dependent diabetic. Fraudulent activity and money laundering charges were for around $4.5M. This guy lived in a home for over 5 years that he never paid for. No word on where the money was stashed.

Back in June Lavine changed his plea to guilt. Today December 15 after hearing 14 of the victims testified that they wanted him punished.  the judge sentenced Lavine to 20 Years in state prison. He was removed from the court in hand cuffs to begin to serve his sentance. The judge agreed with the state that probation would not yield any restitutoin and that he needed to serve real time.

Justice has been served.

Steven Lavine has recieved another continuance for his court appearance. As of 2 May 2011, his new attorney requested and recieved the continuance until 19 July 2011. I am a victim that lost $65k to him and am awaiting the verdict.
