SUNKEN CITY SKATES RIP OFF, CON ARTISTS, SCAMMERS, SAN PEDRO California
*Consumer Comment: Sunken City - not a rip off
*Consumer Suggestion: Sunken City - not a rip-off
Sunken City Skates in San Pedro California ripped off my son, they even had to move their location from 29111 Western Ave in San Pedro to 619 South Mesa in San Pedro because people were going in the store and complaining how the owners Ricky Plancich and Brandon Zanckich were ripping off the kids when they came to buy shoes, they were charging them 10.00 to 15.00 more on the shoes than their competitors, do not allow your kids to go in Sunken City Skates alone or the owners will rip them off and charge them higher prices because they are children. Actually just don't allow your children to shop at Sunken City Skates in San Pedro at all.

Sunken City - not a rip off

Sunken City is a skater run store. It is a small store that does not benefit from the volume discounts of major stores.
Some of the major stores also sell products at a cheaper rate because they may be last years items.
As a mother of 4, the kids want the current years products. The owners of Sunken City did not move to get away from people complaining. San Pedro is a small town, their new location is not that far away.
They moved primarily because of a neighboring business who does not like skaters around the location.
Sunken City has a skate ramp which provides a safe haven for the kids to hang out.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Sunken City - not a rip-off

I was googling Sunken City and came across this report on the first page. This guy's complaints are absurd. He claims that Sunken City's charging $10-$15 more for shoes than "competitors" is evidence of a rip off. To back this claim, he cites "Zappos.com" a mail-order shoe company. Everyone knows you can get cheaper prices on products by ordering them from on-line super stores or shopping at Wal-Mart. Big surprise. Sunken City Skates is a small, neighborhood store, the type of which helps support skateboarding. Small stores are limited in how much they can order, therefore don't get the giant volume discounts of the on-line places, or even the big chains like Active.
A town like San Pedro knows the value of local merchants and independent businesses. Sunken City supports the local skatepark, has knowledgeable staff made up of real skateboarders and even has a halfpipe on premises - try getting that from Zappos.com.
Unless you have evidence that the shoes were sold at a price higher than what they were marked at, your complaint is completely without merit.
