Sunnysideretreats.com Travel Rip Off Miami Florida Internet

We rented a space from "Andrew K"  of sunnysideretreats.com for a condo in Coconut Grove from 12/25-12/31.  We paid $3,555 in September and received confirmation and receipt.   When we got there on the night of the 25th, we were told there was no record of our reservation.  When we showed them the record, they said we never paid.  When we indicated the "paid" part of the receipt, they put us in a temporary unit while they sorted it out. 

Temporary unit was under construction; plastic covering the windows, no outside access, no amenities, no parking pass.  Plus, we didn't know where we were going so we had to stay packed.  After several days while they worked on it, they finally came up empty. 

Good news?  We got a full refund through flipkey.  Bad news?  We had to find a new place to stay in the middle of our vacation during peak time and peak pricing. We ended up spending all of the refund on inferior housing 1/2 way through the vacation.  One of my kids had to sleep in the closet. 

Our vacation was pretty much killed in the process.  But here is the rub.  We can't review this agency online and thereby warn off other travelers.  Why not?  Flipkey has appropriately removed him from the site.  However, he is still on Airbnb, VRBO and who knows what else.  But we can't leave a review, because we didn't rent through those sites.  So this guy gets to keep writing checks he won't cash.
