I took my car to Sunset Auto for a simple parts change / repair.
My car needed a new front hub assembly, so I bought the part and took it to Sunset Auto for installation. They installed the hub assembly incorrectly, which caused damage to my vehicle.

This cost me over $1,500.00 to repair.
The dealership that was finally able to repair my car has documented that Sunset Auto installed the hub assembly incorrectly, causing damage to the hub assembly itself and the axle, which I had to replace.

Sunset Auto is OK

I have to agree with the others...I've been taking my cars to Sunset Auto for several years and they have always been fair and reasonable. I know Mike the owner and he is an honest guy which is hard to find in the auto repair business.

My name is Lena Chavez and I am the Office Manager at Sunset Auto. First, I am very saddened that Mr. Mastro is unhappy with our service. When we installed his hub assembly our technician recommend he replace his cv axle. Mr. Mastro declined.
He called the next day saying there was a noise, we offered to have his car towed back in at our expense and Mr. Mastro declined. He then took his car to another shop who confirmed he needed an axle and he let them install it. Keep in mind two things,
1) had we installed his hub wrong his wheel wouldnt have went on straight
2) if the hub was installed wrong the other company would have picked up on it.
After they installed his axle the problem got worse. Mr. Mastro then took it to the dealer who installed a new hub and axle. Mr. Mastro then called us wanting us to pay for the work done at the dealer.

The owner Mike Aronow, found out Mr. Mastro was unhappy and had a meeting with him personally. He offered to refund the money Mr. Mastro had spent with us and Mr. Mastro declined. Why we are always sad to here a customer is unhappy with our service, I honestly feel every effort was made to try and make Mr. Mastro happy.

We try and treat all our customers as we would want to be treated. But at the same time its not fair to have to pay for something that was beyond our control. We offered to tow him in at the first sign of trouble and then after to refund his money and now our companys reputation is being ruined undeservingly. Please take into consideration both sides of the story before you pass judgement or come down and meet all of us and make your own opinion. Thank you.

this guy is way out of line, first he brings in his own part. and had diagnosed his own car. then he wants additonal work done for free becuse his diag. or his part did not fix what he thougt was wrong with his car, then he goes to another shop (not back to the shop that worked on the car) and does the work that was recommended by sunset, that shop does not see no problem with the work that the orignal shop (sunset) did. and then goes to the dealer gets jacked for $1500.00 and expects SUNSET AUTO to pay for that repair OK there is something wrong with this picture. i think this guy is way out of line. i know mike the owner of sunset auto tryed everything in his power to work it out with this guy but could not come to terms with him, he offerd to get the car back in and fix it, he then offerd to give him his money back but the guy just wanted $1500.00. it sounds like this guy is just trying to black-mail Mike at sunset out of $1500.00 not nice.

Honest Repair Shop Makes Every Attempt to appease Customer

Hard for me to belive, this are great guys I have been going to sunset for a long time they are the most honest mechanics in vegas. mike the owner cares he really cares. I would like to hear his side of the story. this is the only place I would take my car. They have helped me so many times.
