Swift Remodeling incorrectly installed a piece of plumbing in my home instead of paying a licensed plumber to take care of it. This improperly installed part burst three days after I moved in, causing extensive water damage to my bathroom and floor.

Both the plumber on site and the seller of the home confirm that Swift Remodeling had exclusive access to that area of the home. Jason Swift claims that the installation was inspected, but both the home and city inspector sent written statements that they did not inspect that specific installation as he claims. The city inspector further advised that Swift never reached out to complete the inspection, and the project is still listed as open.

The plumber hired by Swift Remodeling forwarded text messages to my phone of Mr. Swift stating he is deliberately withholding any further information on plumbing he installed so that I could not hold him accountable. Do not use this contractor, and do not buy or rent any home they remodeled.

Contractor Unethical and Dishonest

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 18, 2016

I have finally been able to get the vanity replaced, and the new contractor advised that the original job was so poorly done that they may have to cut into the wall.  Jason Swift at Swift Remodeling South does not know what he's doing, and will rather do a poor job than spend money on a real licensed plumber to do it correctly.

I am already in the process of filing a complaint with the licensing board and have spoken with several city inspectors about it.

Do not use this ripoff artist.  He is not only dishonest and refuses to take responsibility for his own actions, he also does poor work.  I have found another judgment filed against him for a job earlier this year that it seems he botched at least as bad as he did in my house.  I'm not sure if another judgment will help me collect on what he owes, but I am considering filing a civil suit like the other individual.

My company remodeled the home last year from September through December. We spent tens of thousands of dollars to remodel and the home was left in great condition and all parts were new. During the remodel we had to set a vanity, which I personally took part in with one of my workers. The installation was successful with new parts and looked great when finished. The picture in the report clearly shows plier teeth marks and fracture across a plastic nuts of the supply lines, which I personally tightened by hand. The damage is clear neglect by someone that came in the home after we completed our work. All work done was by myself licensed contractors, plumbers, HVAC, electricians, mechanical. None of the damage was noted at any home inspections, city inspections that passed.

My NC license number is 76026 which I offered to the home owner as well as the permit paper work I was responsible for and my number to discuss anything further. Our work was completed in December and the owner states they moved in a week ago and this happened two days after move in. I explained to the customer that they should contact their home warranty company or insurance company to assist in the coverage of such activity. The homeowner is clearly frustrated and I can only express how unfortunate this incident was for them. I have been in construction for 24 years myself and with that experience would never lead to an act of vandalism or negligence on something as simple as hand tightening a supply line. My company has an impeccable reputation and its unfortunate some people try to get something for nothing. I only wish the customer the best of luck
