I went through the Auto Bath car wash in Sycamore Il and the part that the tire stops in was so deep due to sinking over the years and not being repaired! I went to pull out and it was so deep that it was like going over a curb and it made my steering wheel jump causing my rim to come in contact with the rough metal guide bar gauging it.
I went around the front of the car wash and informed the attendant. I spoke with him and he stated that the manager would have to deal with it. I contacted him and showed him the damage he replied I fired that kid? He stated that damage had occured before and the insurance would contact me quickly.
I spoke with Beth Davis from Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company and she stated their not sure that it even happened there and that if it did it was most likely operator error! The insurance company is not even located in Illinois so they hired someone to take pictures and decided it was my fault!
I don't know what kind of scam they are pulling but I am left a damaged rim that was only a month old as I just recently replaced my rims and tires. I had to call Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company at least 50 times and had to wait weeks for any kind of answer!
I would suggest to everyone to AVOID THE AUTO BATH CAR WASH IN SYCAMORE IL AND AVOID GRINNELL MUTUAL REINSURANCE COMPANY!
