Tag Heuer Poor warranty/Poor customer service Springfield New Jersey

 Tag Heuer makes and sells luxury watches but when there is need for service or warranty repairs they do not treat consumers fairly. I purchased a $4500 automatic watch from them after owning 2 others for nearly 20 years. In the past I was bothered by the fact that a battery replacement was usually $150 and took 4-6 weeks but I had been happy with the watches themselves so I purchased the most recent one I own. After normal wear for 2 years the screw in crown would no longer screw in so I took to the jeweler where I purchased all 3 and they sent to Tag for what I assumed would be a warranty repair. 6 weeks later I was called by my jeweler and told that Tag was charging nearly $500 to replace the crown and do a "regular service" on my watch.

Upon talking with a representative with Tag I was told that the crown is not included in their warranty. It is absolutely ridiculous to me that a $4500 watch crown just becomes stripped after barely 2 years of service and the maker refuses to warranty. This is the 3rd and LAST Tag that I will ever own and I hope that my write up makes others feel the same way. As a consumer we only have forums such as this to let others know and hopefully discourage people from buying which in turn will make companies like Tag review their policies and start caring about consumers once again.
