Be careful of the advertisements in the classifieds. Internet based scam artists reside in the black print. I called this company for information regarding a possible modeling contract (you see where vanity gets you). The guy's name was Kris, and he said the service would cost about $2.00. This, I thought, would not be a problem, so I gave him all my information, including debit card number.

Big mistake- never do that. Later in the conversation, he informed me that the monthly bill would come to $19.80. I felt a little misled, and I didn't want to even pay this so I told him to delete my information and take me off the list. After some weird noises on the other line, I asked him if he had taken me off. He muttered something like "yes," and promptly hung up. I tried to call back, but they obviously ignored it b/c they knew what I wanted- so I ignored it too.

Last week, my account overdrafted. I asked my bank, and they told me I was billed $19.80 by a "Talent 6" at 7:00 P.M. on a friday(so I can't deal with it till after the weekend). I had no idea what they were talking about b/c the conversation three months ago was so brief. On the way home it hit me, and every detail became quite vivid.

I got home, got on the internet and tracked these people down on this website. I called the customer support line(which is in India), and asked how they had got hold of my debit card. The guy refused to let me speak to a superior (this type of situation must be banal to the floor staff). I canceled the service I never even knew I had, got a cancelation number (always get these for bank records), and hung up.

Apparently they give you two free months. This is great, if you actually want their service to begin with, but if you never wanted it, it gives you two months to forget about it, and, if you have enough money in the bank, forget about it all together while they continue to bill you every month. The magic behind the $19.80 is that it is not enough to notice on a large account. Also, if you do notice, the bank will deal with it without your written affidavit, and the bank usually just pays. Either way, this company gets dirty money.

Talent 6 is a scam

AUTHOR: Barb - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I kept seeing the ads for Talent 6 - make 150-300 a day as an extra in movies. So I decided to try it out. When I called they told me it would be a 45$ fee. After I already gave out my information and signed up she told me that in two weeks I would be charged a monthly fee of 35$ to access the jobs in my area.... I was a little annoyed at this situation because she didn't tell me this upfront. She told me I had two weeks to cancel that. But she told me there were a lot of jobs in my area so I went along with it and figured I would check out the jobs. Idiot rule#1: A place that charges you a monthly fee is making money off of you, so don't expect to make money off of them. So I signed on the next day and looked up the jobs. THEY AREN"T WHAT THEY ADVERTISE!!! It's not a bunch of jobs as extras for a big movie set. It's student's looking for a specific person to work for free, or a musician or dancer. When I did find an ad for a feature movie, they were also looking for someone specific. Or models, 5'8 or taller and size 2!!! With all the jobs in my area I couldn't find ONE that I could even apply for.....So then of course I am like most people, the two weeks go by and I get a charge for the $35.00. I call the next day at 6am when they open. I tell the woman I don't want the access to the jobs but she tells me that the fee is non-refundable (She was kind of snooty and seemed like she was ready to fight with me) I guess that is what they are used to. She was like "Well, there are jobs in your area so I suggest you just look for them and do what you paid for." But the funny thing was that I didn't give her any of my information so how would she know where I live. So I told her fine but I would like to cancel now so I am not charged again. She said if I canceled now that I would loose what I payed for and it would cancel today. I laughed and told her that was sneaky and she gave me the date I could call and cancel. I put a reminder in my phone but now I am out $80 bucks and if there actually is a legit director out there looking for directors I will be lost in a sea of a thousand faces. Take your dreams somewhere else, this place is just out for your money and a waist of time.

Igor is lying, Talent 6 never refunds

AUTHOR: Eric555 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 13, 2008

I am sorry to say I was ripped off by Talent 6. They assured me there was work in my city. When there was not, I called to cancel. They canceled my account, and promised a refund. The girl told me "5-7" business days each of the three times I called to inquire where my refund is. It has now been over 12 business days and I have no refund. She (lady on the phone at their 'customer service line') tried to tell me it is "my bank's fault".

Do an online search, others have been ripped off. Don't fall for this con.

And don't fall for these posts saying they are legit and if you only email them, they will handle your problem ASAP. They do not, and have not in my case.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

We're not a scam!

AUTHOR: Igor Reiant - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 14, 2008

My name is Igor Reiant and I am the CEO of Talent6. I'd like to personally apologize for any problems any former member or employee may have encountered with our service. We've worked with over a million clients in the last two years and have designed our sales and customer support procedures to accommodate every one of them. However, as with any company, problems and mix-ups do occur, and we do our utmost to solve them and prevent similar issues from happening in the future.

We are not hiding anything. Members of Talent6 have the ability to cancel online and send questions through the site directly to Customer Support. If a client prefers to speak to the Customer Support Department by phone, our toll free phone number is provided during the initial sale and on the website. By calling 1-800-710-4210, you will be directly routed through to a real person who can answer questions, provide refunds and help you with any problems you may have. There are no phone prompts or mazes to go through and wait time typically does not exceed three to five minutes.

Talent6 is constantly working to improve our Customer Support Department, Sales Department and our website as a whole. We post thousands of new casting calls every week for people working to break into the entertainment industry. Search for Talent has also signed up hundreds of Casting Directors and Photographers who contact our members every day with upcoming opportunities. We are consistently growing and expanding, but it's not because we're a scam, it's because Search for Talent works.
