 Sadly, it seems these distributors all operate the same. They promise base pay but then you find out you must do 15 demos per week to get it. Even if you make the 15, they will find some reason to disqualify one of your demos so that they won't have to pay you. They promise xxx dollars per sale of a unit but then tell you that you won't be getting a check because the unit sold too low / the person didn't have good credit, etc. I've read of cases where the salesman was told no pay because the vacuum was returned. Then, when the salesman calls the customer to confirm that story, they find out it was a lie. Personally, I will never own a Kirby based on their ridiculous mark-up ( my understanding is the distributor buys them for about $200-300 ), the selling techniques ( we are a new carpet cleaning business in your area ), and because they cheat their workers.
