On February 8, 2008 I purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe from Team Pontiac Buick GMC in Union City Georgia. I am a very dissatisfied customer! When I first went to Team Pontiac and was looking to purchase a truck, I was dealing with Christopher Miller (sales manager). I told him every feature I wanted on the truck and my price range.

He gave me a call some days later letting me know that the truck had been sent off for leather seats and the other amenities that I requested like adjustable pedals, sunroof, rear back up sensor and multiple CD changer. Then he called me back to tell me they had the wrong color truck (light blue instead of dark metallic blue) and that I had to wait until the dark blue truck got shipped in. While I'm waiting for the truck to arrive, I called Christopher at the dealership to see what day I needed to pick the truck up and look it over and that is when I was told by the operator that he no longer worked there.

I was reassigned to a new salesperson named Tobie Johnson (who at the end, knew absolutely nothing). I closed the deal with Tobie who assured me that everything was exactly how Christopher left it (paperwork, price, features etc.) and that my truck arrived and it was perfect. When I arrived at the dealership on February 8th, 2008 to take possession of my new vehicle, Tobie went over the basic details of the truck and told me to refer to the vehicles manual to reset or reprogram the truck to my needs.

I could not drive my truck for approximately two weeks because the alarm was programmed to the remote for the truck and I had no way to reprogram it because I had not been given the remote keyless entry, therefore every time I entered or exited the vehicle the alarm would go off. I called Tobie and notified him of this issue and he repeatedly told me that he would get one for me and that he had to speak with the manager etc. (excuse after excuse).

Finally after a week of this, I got tired of the excuses so I called and spoke directly to the manger (Jeff), then ten minutes later Tobie calls me to say I talked to my manager and we are going to order the remote now." NOW, I think to myself, I've been telling you that I need the remote for weeks. After a week or so I eventually got an extra key with one remote for the truck, mind you the remote is part of the truck not an accessory.

Tobie said the other remote would be in soon. While I'm waiting for the remote to come in I start to reprogram the vehicle a little at a time (day by day). When I was unable to set the features that I wanted I then called Tobie and asked about the settings and that is when I found out my truck did not have the features that I required because I had an LT1. I originally was told that I had an LT2 less some features that I didn't want and that is when I realized that they lied to me and tricked me into an LT1 (because they look identical). The paper work Christopher and I had gone over was an LT2 mimnus some features that I didn't want.

What they did was get an LT1 and added a sunroof and leather seats (leather was not requested by me) and that was it. So now I am questioning Tobie about this vehicle and why did they give me this truck instead of the original truck I requested and of course he was unable to give an explanation. Instead he assured me that he would call Christopher to find out what happened.

So now three weeks almost a month has past and I'm still calling the dealership wondering whether they can add adjustable pedals or lift the pedals, inquiring about the second remote for the extra key. I even told them not to worry about the back up sensor or CD changer but that the pedals where a necessity. I told Tobie that I have knee injuries from the military and that my knees were hitting the bottom of the dash and the adjustable pedals were necessary.

Tobie told me they had another remote ordered and he would call me when it arriveed. On March 7th, 2008 I again called to inquire about the additional remote and Tobie confirmed that the remote had arrived. When I called Tobie to make arrangements to collect the additional remote, he then told me that because of how the deal was put together by Christopher Miller that the manager has decided NOT to order another remote because the dealership had lost $2,000 on my car.

I told Tobie I had nothing to do with the information that was entered into the computer so why am I (the customer) being penalized? I am suffering and paying for a truck that is not what I wanted at all, except the color. I also stressed to Tobie what Christopher and I discussed with regards to the features on the vehicle and the price. Tobie repeatedly reiterated that he had to consult with his manager, but basically stated that because of the way Mr. Miller put the package together they were not trying to really assist me with any other issues regarding my purchase of the vehicle.

I got so frustrated that my mother called and spoke with Joseph Johnson (used car manager), because she purchased her current vehicle from this same dealership in November 2004 and highly recommended them regarding the purchase my truck, little did we know there was a completely different staff. The manager Joseph told my mother the same lie that they were telling me that I signed a contract stating that I was taking the truck off the lot as is, but not once was I ever advised that the vehicle was being sold as is and that it wasn't the vehicle I originally agreed on.

The manager (Joseph Johnson) also told my mother to call him back within the hour on Friday March 7th, 2008 at approximately 4:30 pm. When she called him back they kept putting her on hold and sending her to his voicemail. My mother called back on Saturday March 8th 2008 at 10am when they opened, and both my mother and I spoke to Joseph and he stuck with the same story that they weren't going to order another remote because of the deal I received on the truck.

Joseph was very rude and continued to inform me during our conversation that there was nothing they could do or was going to do and that he was going to hang up and terminate our conversation. When I continued to ask him questions and there was no response and the phone went dead, I realized that he had hung up on me. I then decided to contact my attorney about this issue because I want to return the vehicle (I want out of the contract) and I want the full amount of the truck refunded to me including the $225.00 I paid out of my pocket to get the windows tinted at Cuzzo's Custom Tint, referred by Tobie Johnson.

During the entire month of my dissatisfaction dealings with this vehicle, Team Pontiacs former employee Christopher Miller has continued to call me, text me and harass me. He sends pictures of himself, flowers, etc. I have asked him on many occasions to not call me because he no longer worked at the dealership and I felt that his calling me was very inappropriate and unprofessional.

When Christopher was working at Team Pontiac he called me one day asking about a credit card balance that was on my credit report, and I questioned him about why he was in my file looking at my personal information. I was going to report him, but shortly thereafter he was terminated. I do not know what Team Pontiac considers customer service, and factoring in that their mission statement states, making customers for life is very contradictory to the service that is provided.

Please be advised that I would never recommend Team Pontiac Buick GMC of Union City Georgia to any person and they honestly should be investigated by the GM Corporation regarding their customer service ethics. When I asked Joseph Johnson for the owner's names he told me to call corporate. I said to him, you all are independently owned so who do I contact above you he got quiet. I had to go on the internet to find a corporate number and I filed a complaint. My experience with Team Pontiac has been quite awful and at this point I'd rather be on the bus line than to deal with a dealership telling me I'm stuck with a vehicle that I do not want.

I know that one of the owners names is Ron Swatty and that is the only information that this dealership would provide. They absolutely refused to give me any information pertaining to their corporate office. I wish I would have read articles frm ripoffreport.com before going through the hell I'm goin gthrough with this dealership. Team Pontiac Buick GMC of Union City has very poor customer service and fraudulent Sales Tactics.

I guess what you were trying to do was help the dealer out by taking one of his trucks off the lot. Next time if you are particular about options simply place an order for the truck then ask for a copy of the order. I've done this many times. It takes about 10 minutes, you get exactly what you want, and the dealer makes out because he doesn't have to pay flor time taxes on the vehicle. It comes in and you drive it away. I never get a truck or car off the lot unless it is exactly what I want.
