The blue dot sells cell phones on ebay.  New, used, and refurbished.  I purchased a blackberry, which costs $400.00 u.s.  retail.  I even paid for expedited shipping.  Even though my mailing address contained a unit number in it, these apparent idiots shipped it without requiring a signature for reciept of the item.

And apparently these, in my impression, idiots, didn't even insure the item.  When I finally got through emailing with them twice, because they don't show a customer service phone number under the contact us heading, they told me the online tracking showed it as delivered.

After I requested that this customer service rep.  call me, or his superviser, he finally called.  He tells me that," the tracking shows it was delivered".  So I say are you telling me didn't send it requiring a signature?  He says,"you didn't pay for that kind of shipping, if you didn't get the item you have to take it up with the post office".  I told him I paid for the only epedited shipping option that I saw at the check out.

This guy then tells me that basically he can't do anything for me.  So I ask to talk his supervisor and he says hold on, and then he obviously puts his hand over the phone for about 3 to 4 seconds, and tells me his supervisor says to contact the post office.  The whole thing was very frustrating and they are obviously 2, or maybe even just 1 guy in his apartment and basically I got screwed by thier incompetence.  The only upside here is that I only paid $70.00, and I called my bank and got the charge reversed.

The end result and most important part to this posting is that I checked thier facebook page and sure enough they're are postings there in which people are literally saying,"where is my item?".  I am starting a campaing to expose these bumbling fools for the incompetent inane amatures that they really are.

Tracking showed deliver - Adult signature required for shipments over $250

AUTHOR: TheBlueDot.net - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, June 02, 2012

While your details provided in this complaint do not provide enough information for me to lookup your information, I am sorry you felt the need to write this complaint. Our customers mean a great deal to us and we take our customers concerns seriously.

Every single phone that leaves our doors has a tracking number associated to it when leaving our warehouse. We do not provide insurance on phones shipped from our facility. In the very rare event the USPS does not update the tracking number after 10 business days as showing the item delivered we would resend your order - no questions asked. We have shipped over 500,000 phones from our warehouse and we have only had to reship at most - 20 phones in the 6 years we have been in business. Ebay does not allow us to offer an insurance upgrade so therefore we do not provide insurance on our shipments however for any items over $250 - we are required by both PayPal and eBay to include a Signature Confirmation on the shipment. Our shipping software's filters automatically apply these rules to any shipments that leave our doors that are over $250 so your order would have 100% have included a signature confirmation. There is no way even myself as the owner of the company can bypass this rule.

If one of our service reps pointed out to you that the USPS delivery confirmation number showed your item as delivered, the USPS.com online tracking system would have shown your package as signed for (since over $250) and the time of delivery. Additionally any complaints filed by a customer for a lost package - we file a trace route with our USPS rep directly and confirm with the USPS the carrier who last touched the package. The only way a package will show as "devivered" in the USPS system is if an actual carrier scanned that package at the time of delivery. A trace route will show the actual carrier who scanned the item as "deliverered".

We take our customers concerns seriously and our online reputation means a great deal to us as an online only business. We encourage people who read this to do a search for "thebluedot" and see our customers satisfaction is among the best in the industry. We maintain a 98.9% satifaction rating with over 100,000 feedback on eBay, have over 1,300 positive reviews on resellerratings.com, and maintain an "A" rating through the better business bureau.
