The Pet Nanny untrustworthy, unreliable, not accredited Delaware
*UPDATE Employee: You are a joke!
*REBUTTAL Owner of company: Rebuttal to Report about The Pet Nanny
The Pet Nanny is a pet siting service that services several areas, but is only valid and legal in the state of Delaware. They claim to have a license, insurance and bonds for PA, NY, MD and DC but do not. They can not be trusted. If they lie about these things, do you want to give them a key to your home and let them take care of your animals? Plus, the owner withholds pay from her employees for no reason!

I am so glad that you have so much time on your hands, Dale to write a novel and accuse me of all that you did on this site. I never posted anything about you, but as usual your crazy mind makes you think so. Does the world need to know all our personal business? Talk about slander! It is hysterical that never before and never after has a cliebt EVER complained about me. You claim those clients are your friends yet you talk about them behinf[d thier backs? It is laughable. Lets remember a few important issues:
1. You did not fire me
2. You handed the clients over to me
3. You withheld my pay and admitted to it
4. You and your nasty daughter set me up
5. You NEVER explained to your PA clients you were not licensed in PA and still are not nor had valid insurance coverage
6. You taught me NOTHING about business.... you have no sense at all!
Stop your b******** or I will be suing you for a lot more.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Rebuttal to Report about The Pet Nanny
AUTHOR: Dale - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, June 03, 2009
I am the owner of The Pet Nanny, and I am not surprised this former, disgruntled employee (Bloo is part of her email address) and another supposed email (from her as well, I am sure) were posted here.
I would like to rebutt the individual posting "The Pet Nanny deceptive, theft (I think she meant "thief") liar Wilmington delaware" report and the "The Pet Nanny untrustworthy, unreliable, not accredited in Delaware" post by Blahh, in (supposedly Chadds Ford).
Here is the truth. This individual:
1. Was hired by me as a contractor (on a trial basis) to continue sitting form my company and act as the Manager of the business in Delaware when I moved to Maryland. I trusted her as she did an excellent job with one of our client's dogs.
COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS
2. After I received one complaint from a valued, dear customer who I had provided services for over a year, I went into shock. This customer owned 3 dogs and 3 cats. This customer's complaint concerned: (1) the state in which she had left the client's home after a few overnights (including pee on the bed from a cat who the client believed had been mistakenly locked in the bedroom); (2) the fact that the cats had not been fed their dry food--evidenced by empty food bowls (in the year I had sat for this client, the cats had never once eaten anywhere near a whole bowl of dry food) ; and (3) a daughter of the client witnessing her rushing in and rushing out of the house, without tending to the services for which she was responsible (she saw the sitter's car in the driveway, with the sitter's son and mother sitting inside). Obviously, the sitter (my former manager) had other plans and properly finishing her work at the client's home was not her priority that day.
I talked at length with both the client (with whom I'd never had a problem myself; in fact, we are friends. She is very easygoing and just a wonderful person--and I have never, ever said anything negative about this client to anyone, let alone to this individual) and the sitter (my manager, at the time). I repeated the complaint to this individual and heard her out. Rather than taking any responsibility for what she failed to do, though, she instead called this individual's daughter a liar and said she wasn't a housekeeper or cleaner and didn't have those kind of responsibilities.
I gave my sitter (manager) a second chance. I educated her about the need to thoroughly check the home before leaving. That she needed to wash and dry the sheets on the bed where she slept--and remake the bed, fresh, for the owner's return. (She was astonished to hear that.) I said that she needed to ensure the house was returned in the same order as it had been when she arrived. (These are all things that are stated in our "Code of Conduct," that I had reviewed with each contractor before hiring each --and were nothing new. I then assigned the other sitter in the region to this client, something which infuriated this former employee. That sitter happened to be my daughter, and that territory was one she covered. No other sitter was doing jobs in that area except my daughter. This former employee became enraged at that decision (entirely mine, based upon discussions with the client). She then vengefully sent an email to my client stating that, in comparison to my daughter, she was by far the more professional sitter. My client sent me that email and both of us became very alarmed at this point by this unethical, shocking behavior from someone I had not only trusted, but named as my manager in my absence.
I still did not fire her at that point. I don't know why. I should have. I felt she had a lot of things going against her (private matters) and that I could guide her about proper conduct, etc. I shouldn't have kept her on. Because, then, a second client was so appalled by how she found her home after this individual sat for her, that she no longer wanted my company to serve her. (This was a client who loved me; who trusted me implicitly and left me lovely tips!) The client explained that it took her husband HOURS to clean the cat's room--that it had been left filthy; that the cats' bowls were dirty and appeared never to have been washed; and that the cats had become sick, as a result! (This client is a lovely person and not in the least picky!) She said she was sorry; she felt a real affection for me and a complete trust in my conduct. However, I wasn't there in DE anymore and she felt she could no longer trust my company. I had lost this valuable client. It broke my heart that this ended so badly.
I confronted this sitter/manager again and this time I felt I had no choice but to get rid of the former manager. She was ruining the reputation I had worked so hard to build.
My goal was not to interrupt this single mother's livelihood; however, it was simply to dissolve the business relationship with her as fast as I could. So I urged her at that point to start her own business. I gave her pointers, etc. I really tried to help her.
In February and March, business was bleak. (Typical in this field for that time of year.) As I said, I had just moved to Maryland and money wasn't exactly flowing like a river here for us, either.
I had promised this sitter/manager 90% of the money she made from her work. In February, I was able to eek out all sitter payments (after I paid for the charges involved in running the business (website server, google ads, Virtual Merchant payments for online banking, etc). By March, things got worse. I had a hard time keeping up with the payments, I admit. And by April things were quite bad. I DID owe this individual money. I was very upset that things had gotten so bad financially. At tax time, I took a loss.
I didn't just let things slide, however. I consulted a lawyer and presented the state of things, asking what I could do. He told me I was crazy to turn over the business to anyone without a payment for: (1) the client list; (2) the new clients she now saw as a result of my website; and (3) the things she had learned both from using my forms and from working under me. He told me the minimal amount I should charge her for "getting the business" was $1,000.
I sent a very calm letter to this individual, explaining that she could continue to see all the clients we had (under my company name) IF: (1) She would pay me the minimal sum named by my lawyer ($1,000); I asked that (2) she change the name of her company; and (3) I asked that she not do further damage to the name of my company by saying or printing anything derogatory.
The answer I received from her is unprintable. After receiving her response, I had no choice but to fire her. I did so without informing her officially because (1) she was never an employee, but a contractor--and I had no obligation to do so; and (2) I felt the email I received from her was essentially the move she made so I would fire her.
From then on, of course, things got worse. Threats were made about the money I owed her. My lawyer said that it was she who owed me money and to disregard her emails and her threats. I was never anything but professional in my emails to her at any point. I wish I could say the same about her.
I sent a letter to each and every client and let them know I had dismissed this individual (I wouldn't call that a rumor; it was fact.) and that they could continue to use her services (under a new name) or remain with me, using the sitters I had in the area. It was written without any statement about this individual's conduct which led me to fire her. Instead, it was a calm presentation of what each client needed to know to go forward with care for their pets. I did not seek to prevent her from seeing any customers, if they chose to remain with her. Nor did I discuss details with any customer (except for the two who had complained about her, of course).
FURTHER:
My business has been licensed properly in DE from it's inception in May, 2008. I have my valid 2009 license and share a scanned copy of it with every customer.
My business has been fully insured through Travelers (and it covers my sitters in all 4 areas) from the same date and continues to be fully insured through the same company and my same agent through May 29, 2010. I share scanned copies of the policy with all my clients.
My employees (which I didn't add until July, 2008) have been bonded since July 1, 2008, (and that coverage is for sitters in all 4 areas, as well.) It will renew on July 1, 2009. I share a scanned copy of it with all my clients.
I earned my American Red Cross Pet First Aid Certificate in April, 2008. It is valid forever. I share scanned copies with all my clients.
I have been a member in good standing with PSI since May 29, 2008 and continue to be through May 29, 2010. I share scanned copies with all my clients.
My PA clients knew I had no license in PA (I shared only my DE license with them) because I had only 1 or 2 customers in that area. We now have more, so we will file for licensing there this month.
I have applied for the Maryland charter (no licensing is needed here) and am awaiting response from the state for that application as we speak. (I was hospitalized for almost a month in February of this year--took me weeks to recuperate, as well, so I was slow in even starting the business here--so slow in applying for the proper credentials here). All my clients here are aware of that.
I currently have no customers in DC, so do not need any licensing there.
We currently have a new customer in NY, and the licensing procedure began before that client's service began. This client is aware of that, as well.
I have no clue what this individual meant by "blackmailing" her. I suppose she considers the request for payment for the business I started by myself in DE is blackmail.
I hope I have put this disgruntled former worker's report to rest. To have posted here in the first place--with inaccurate and
