I have taken speech and voice classes at many companies in New York via phone and skype. From all my experiences, I have never seen such an unethical, rip-off company - The Sam Chwat Speech Center.
When I first started taking classes with them, it was made clear to me that if I bought a package deal of 10 sessions, I would get a refund if I don't use up those sessions. Everything is okay until I requested a refund for the sessions I haven't used. That's when I realized that I was dealing with a scam company that tries to squeeze every bit of money from their clients and lie about it to trick consumers into buying package deals.
Sam Chwat's company has the worst customer service. They start with various excuses from not receiving my refund request to putting me on hold forever, while they keep picking up phone calls from other callers.
This is absolutely the WORST company I've ever come across. Run away from The Sam Chwat's Speech Center. It's truly the worst type of company I've ever seen and I would tell any friends of mine to keep away from them. There are better services to spend your money on. I probably will file a lawsuit, just to teach them a lesson.

If you had simply done your research first you would know that Sam Chwat Speech Center was not only a successful and reliable company in its day, but that there may have been a reason for inaccuracy with it in the past two years. Sam Chwat was diagnosed with lymphoma, and put on work leave for a few months before his death in March, 2011. This is not a bad company, simply one that was experiencing a downfall due to its owner's death. They were not ripping you off from your money, or scamming you, which you ignorantly assumed. They were going through an extremely difficult tragedy and loss.
Sam Chwat Speech Center successfully helped thousands of people eliminate or fix their accents, leaving them completely satisfied. If you look at the reviews, you are the only negative feedback received, and your comment was registered after his sickness and his death. Have a little compassion. The company no longer exists because of his death, which is why you haven't received your money back. Not because they scammed you.
